But why trust the worthless opinions of people who have never suplexed anyone in their life? Instead, here are the 8 Best Wrestling Games According to Actual WWE Wrestlers. We chatted to wrestlers including Seth Rollins, AJ Styles and The New Day about their favourite grappling games of all time. As expected, AKI games like Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy feature heavily, but there are also more leftfield choices in there. These guys are massive nerds, just like us. Not that we'd ever tell them to their faces.
They are also all appropriately excited about WWE 2K18, which improves on the graphics engine, adds a ton of incidental animations and a new carry mode that allows you to drag your opponent around the ring.
WWE 2K18 comes out on release date 17 October 2017 on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

I wrote and directed Road to WrestleMania mode for SVR 2009, 2010 and 2011. We used Sheamus when he was in developmental along with a bunch of other guys in 09. Sheamus was Triple H in many cutscenes. For 10 and 11, I was able to cast wrestlers I knew (I'm a former pro-wrestler), and Cesaro portrayed former tag partner Jack Swagger in along with others in cutscenes.

Fun Fact: The reason that Burning Hammer is banned is because it's a very hard move to do safely. Plus WWE banned Piledrivers, so it's only natural that the Burning Hammer was banned also.

Disagree. Shut your Mouth was far superior to HCTP. HCTP introduced that really screwed up counter system which had 2 buttons for counters, and for people like myself who get confused which button does what, it made the game almost unplayable.

Fufufu You wouldn't even guess how many are hardcore gamers. Xavier Woods has his UpUpDownDown channel. And not just Xavier and the other guys in this video. Rusev, Kevin Owens, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Kalisto, Shelton Benjamin, Kenny Omega. I know the last guy isn't a WWE superstar, but he's close friends with Xavier and they also play together in conventions and tournaments.

Some of my favorite wrestling games would have to be: VPW2: Not only does it feature an All Japan roster but it also includes people from New Japan, FMW, and Michinoku Pro. King of Colosseum II: One of the best wrestling games ever. It may also be the most difficult in terms of getting the timing down but with superb gameplay and licensed rosters from the biggest Japanese companies you can't go wrong here. Fire Pro Returns: I'm almost certain someone else has brought up this game in the comments so all I'll say is if you have a PS2/3 then buy it.

Alfredo Gonzalez fuck my career mode, needs to be canned for RTWM or 2kshowcase...but better move animations, better backstage fighting, way way more matches, custom matches is back, better create a wrestler, better submission system. I have no lag on 8 man matches and I’m not on the pro or X...it’s certainly a better leap forward between 2 games then CoD or destiny

Appolo Fire Pro isn't that great to actually play, it's more of a simulator you sit down & watch, like actual matches on TV. The grappling is pretty much broken if you actually try and play it yourself, but it has tons of modes like deathmatches & all that shit.

Yep, my second wrestling game I played. First was WCW/nWo Revenge, which was great too but there was something about SVR 06 that made my go back and play to this day. I also like how they shilled wwe 2k18, like they would with 2k19 or last years 2k17.

Okay, WrestleMania 2000 was awesome...but No Mercy improved the entire formula ten fold. Not to mention it still has one of the best story modes in wrestling game history. My personal favorite will always be Smackdown 2 though.

Buried alive was first in SVR 2006 not 2007. The GM and Story modes in 2006 were equal if not better than 2007. Depends on what you like about the games though.

magnum567134 Not enough modes, no championship belts, no customizations/create a wrestler. It had a unique setting because of the hip-hop theme, but it was very limited overall.

The major thing that I took away from this video? That pro wrestlers are more eloquent and articulate than most celebrities. I wish wrestling was more like this, then fighting. Like watching Downtown Abby punctuated with body slams.

Mirza M. 06 was okay but a little too slow; that was when WWE started putting out slower matches so the games had to match the style. 2K14 was good but it had a lot of glitches in comparison to the older ones.

Excellent video, its cool to see and hear the wrestlers themselves (Seth Rollins and The New Day) brag about playing Wrestlefest in the arcades. I have untold memories of that game. Its was seen at arcades, funfairs ('Amusement Parks' if you're North American) and mini cab hiring places and so on!

Fire Pro Wrestling World, on Steam. Just saying. Don't let the 2D put you off it really plays well and has steam workshop support, so plenty of custom characters and moves.

Knew what Rollins was gonna say before he said it. Rumble for the SNES was and still is my favorite wrestling title of all time. Absolutely loved WCW Wrestling for the NES too... lots of great 2 player memories there.

ECW Anarchy Rulz was pretty awesome too. Its like WWF Attitude but with easier control. The best part is the blood. They're everywhere! Especially in barbed wire match :D

I was obsessed with wrestling when I was young from 2004-2007. Didn't miss a show. I remember Kerwyn White(lol) the spirit squad the mysterio/guerrero child storyline and I remember Batista/Cena winning their titles at Wrestlemania just to name a few memories. Man I miss being young already.

WWE 2K14 is my favourite, it's the one I played the most and loved the '30 Years of WrestleMania' game mode as I wasn't born until WM 2000, I could play through matches I never witnessed

Every SVR except maybe 2008 and 2009 but every other one was good. WWE 13 was good. WWE 2K14 is the same. WWE 2K16 17 and maybe 18 looks good

Glad you mentioned Saturday Night Slam Masters that game was awesome! I would like to include Fire Pro Wrestling for just the sheer amount of moves and characters they had in it it was amazing and fun to play!

I always liked WWE Allstars as a game you could just have a fun night with your friends on. Crack open a couple of beers and laugh at the character models that were so muscular they looked more like failed science experiments than people. Gameplay was fun even if it was a bit unbalanced in that classic fighting game kinda way

For me my top ones are.. 1) Wrestlemania21 on the original xbox. It brings back a lot of memories with a lot of legends on there, it was one of the greatest of all time. 2) Smackdown VS Raw 2010 It was just amazing with no other words just amazing.. on xbox 360.

Smackdown vs raw featuring ECW was the first wrestling game I played and still one of my favourite, could do quite a lot on this game, like set a trap to try to injure your opponent before the match, creating fueds and opponents for your big events

My favourite made the list, royal rumble on the snes outside of Chrono Trigger and Secret of Evermore, that game had the highest amount of my SNES playtime sunk into it.
