I don't think M3 Max is a chip to perform all the benchmarks since its pretty uncommon therefore not main stream i'd like to see performance benchmarks on M2, M3, M1 and M2 Pro

People, be reasonable, why would he buy 15 different laptops to test this on. Performance is fairly linear. A top of the line M3 Max has 40 GPU cores, a 19-core M1 Pro or a M2 Pro, you can pretty much calculate the FPS by multiplying it here by 0.4-0.5x.

Then only low-end common CPU: M1 Pro and m3 Max would be a suggestion. With that you can assume all the cpu performance in between roughly.

There’s no games to test Ray Tracing as far as I can tell and the ones that do it scales poorly. No games can run it Natively currently.

I would not recommend playing on m1 air, without a fan it will be too painful for PC hardware.

Hello Guys, I need help. I have Macbook Air with M2 chip, I am using Crossover 24.03 with CXPatcher applied. So, I downloaded Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered , installed it, but when I try to run it it gives me this error: Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered The driver for your graphics card is below the current game requirements. Please ensure your graphics card is correctly installed, and your monitor is connected to it correctly. All that matters to see is framerate, since other aspects are obvious to see: can you put a MUCH ENLARGED framerate number display? It should be a huge indicator in these videos.

I tried Far Cry 6 (Demo) on my *M1 Max with 32GB RAM* and was getting 34 fps average on medium graphics at *3360 x 1890* resolution. That's great in my book. At 1080 I got 55 fps average, but I would rather have better resolution as long as the frame rate is at least 30fps.

Yeah it’s possible but testers often use uncapped performance to show a more complete performance profile. Though tbh I just cap everything to 30 fps when gaming

Do you think that one of the purposes of GPTK is to encourage PC gamers with large game libraries over to Mac hardware? I don't think the technical side of setting it up would put off most "hardcore" gamers and apple is making it clearer how it can be used casually by the public.

MacBooks these days generally have an aspect ratio of 16:10 if you don't include the area of the screen containing the notch. Games are typically designed to run with a 16:9 aspect ratio, so this is what is creating the black bars because there is a significant amount of screen real estate along the vertical axis of the screen that 16:9 content can't use on a 16:10 display. But of course it is possible for games to run at other resolutions with other aspect ratios if they are programmed or hacked to do so.

@@demoman1596shGames today generally support 16:10 and other resolutions such as ultrawide 21:9 just fine. I think he just had his settings set to a 16:9 resolution in this video, 16:10 works fine in crossover for me. Just make sure the resolution you choose is actually 16:10, like 1920x1200 or 2560x1600.

Apple mentioned that Game Porting Toolkit 2 makes porting advanced Windows games even to iOS and iPadOS easier and better. Since the new iPad Pro has the latest M4 chip, maybe someone should actually try that. And compare the benchmark with M3 Max

m4 has same gpu as base M3. You really can't compare it with M3 Max, it's far from it performance wise. iPad also can't run game porting toolkit.

It's great that more games run on mac but I mostly play lighter titles anyway, just buy a ps5 for $500 and get 4k max graphics experience and don't be tempted to buy a mac with highest specs for $3700 just to play games at 1080p medium settings xD
