Thanks very much! Haha honestly you don’t see the hours of bashing my head against Junos blaming it for not working when it’s actually user error. God bless video editing 😂👍 Thanks for your support

Great videos. Because you raised the level of information so high now you need to make another video to cover the configuration part also for DCI. (and type 5 obviously so the can of worms to be fully opened :P ). Genius work. Thanks :)

Haha you are right and as you mention it is a huge can of worms. Don't think i'll be able to cover it all to be honest but perhaps, eventually, a video on VxLAN stitching? Thanks for the support.

Very Good video indeed! If you can please make a video on MPLS on Juniper MX and QFX

Ooh that's a big topic haha. Maybe in the future. For now I am resting after a heavy EVPN-VXLAN series and covering easier topics such as STP, RSTP (current), MSTP (next) and then VRRP

How can you run vEX switch on Eve-ng sir? On bare metal hypervisor or nested env like running eve-ng on vmware workstation?
@Netcademy
@Netcademy 2 ай бұрын
Ooh good question! So when I first started this journey I installed eve-ng onto my personal laptop on top of VmWare. So the VMware workstation was acting as a hyper visor. However I soon discovered that the cpu of the laptop was just not coping with laptop os -> VMware workstation-> eveng -> all the Juniper virtual machines I was trying to spin up. So after weeks of trying and failing to get it to work, I bite the bullet and bought my own HP (I think) server. I erased the os and installed eve-ng pro on top of it. Therefore it became a BMS 😁Now I have 256GB RAM, 40 x logical processors & 4TB disk drive to run eve-ng 😎 As for the vEXs I just installed this straight into the eve-ng files following they’re published instructions. I will warn you though that vEXs are quite heavy on CPU and RAM. Hopefully Juniper will release not so beefy versions in the future but we’ll see Hope that helps Btw do you like my new style of videos? Thanks for the support 👍

Hello Dear Thanks for sharing knowledge, i see you use OSPF for underlay while most of the recommendations of Juniper is to go with BGP I know its works but do you prefer using OSPF over EBGP for small setup ?
@Netcademy
@Netcademy Ай бұрын
Yes correct Juniper recommend eBGP, to be specific, as the underlay. I use OSPF as honestly I just like it! It's simple, easy and more than enough for such a small lab. Using eBGP whilst brings extra benefits also brings additional commands such as policy-statements to accept & advertise lo0.0 addresses which then need to be imported into the BGP group.

Hi David, I follow your tutorial exactly from this video (except for the numbering - IP addresses scheme, ASN, etc). But when I finished step 7th (configuring vxlan) and issued the "commit check" command, my vEX-Leaf-1 showed notification like this : ------------------ [edit] 'switch-options' Router id mismatch with source vtep: router-id:1.1.1.11 lo0.0:11 error: configuration check-out failed ------------------- on Leaf-1 : - interface Lo0.0 : 10.10.0.11/32 - RID : 65001 - firmware : vjunosswitch-23.2R1.14 - set switch-options vtep-source-interface lo0.0 - set switch-options route-distinguisher 1.1.1.11:65001 I can't find the solution for that problem. Can you show me something ? Thanx in advace

@@Mrbald123 thanks for the comment. The router-I’d and lo0 have to be the same ie something like 1.1.1.1.
@Netcademy
@Netcademy 11 күн бұрын
@@Mrbald123 honestly not sure why they have to be the same though! I’d recommend changing the router if to reflect that of the lo0 address. Otherwise you’ll have to change all the neighbour commands in the BGP group

@@Netcademy Hi David, I did typo for RID. It's 1.1.1.11 by the way (not 65001 --> ASN). "The router-I’d and lo0 have to be the same" --> I found the same suggestion at juniper's portal. I'll try to reconfigure my switches, follow your suggestion. Thank you

Great videos mate thanks alot. I have a lab with vjunos. i am unable to see interfaces and getting below message, if possible can you please help with it root@Spine2> show interfaces ge-0/0/1 terse error: device ge-0/0/1 not found below is config set interfaces ge-0/0/1 unit 0 family inet address 190.1.2.13/30
@Netcademy
@Netcademy Ай бұрын
Two things I can think of. 1 - do you have the latest vJunos image? 2 - Did you shut down the vJunos correctly last time? This is important as with vJunos you have to run "request system power-off" before closing down the lab itself. It's something due to the image losing its path (but not really sure tbh). I have made this mistake in the past and I had to wipe my vEX switches and start again. Thanks for the support.
