Cold War dogfights are really cool. Their like some weird hybrid of WW2 and modern fights where it’s not quite BVR but it’s quite different from dogfights with guns. In my opinion that’s what makes them so cool.

@@thelittletanket689 True, modern dogfights aren't special. Just fire a missile and boom! No more enemy. Meanwhile WWII dogfights, you have to carefully aim and stuff.
@Of_Your_Volition
@Of_Your_Volition 6 ай бұрын
@@TheGruntGuy321 , @thelittletanket689 Though I do respect your opinions I would say modern dogfights are a little more than missile go boom. When at BVR (Beyond Visual Range) you have the capabilities to defend against missiles by either cranking or dragging the missile to a lower altitude to bleed its energy. If you are to close to defend you can use counter measures such as chaff and flare with sharp maneuvers. If you enter dogfighting range with a bandit you can hug them and min range missiles like sidewinders. From there you can force a two or one circle fight while managing speed and closer to work your way to the rear of a bandit and get the kill. If you would like a video version of this explanation watch Growling Sidewinder he does dcs videos and explains dogfights really well with all types of aircraft especially modern. hope this allows you to love all dogfights as though modern are different they are still very cool.

I have known Pardo since 1971 and have talked to him about this many times. This story has many detail errors, but we will just leave it at that. But I will say what he told me once, "People make a big deal about this but at the time you just do the best you can do". RIP LtCol Bob Pardo.

I would love it if Yarnhub did a video on the Monchy 9 of Newfoundland. 9 men of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment positioned at Monchy-le-Preux during the Battle of Arras in 1917 hid behind shrubbery and defended the town from a German force anywhere from 200 - 300 men strong for 11 hours to prevent a German break through. I think it is a very cool and very underrated battle that sounds like the plot of a movie.

@@spooderboy You are damn right they did, my friend. I love me some England. Y’all have been there with us the whole time in war, peace, the arts, economics, etc etc etc. By the way, I like the accent(I am from Alabama so my accent kinda gives people the exact opposite of the impression that your accent gives to the speaker). I want to thank y’all for getting off of our asses after the conclusion of the War of 1812, though y’all still went rogue occasionally on that forced conscription into your Navy of virtually anyone you could run down with your vessels. I think y’all more than made up for it by providing us with Monty Python, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and by sharing your discovery(?)/development of radar with us. On a serious note, many brave British men and women have sacrificed their lives to support our individual and collective efforts to be strong, successful, free, and a response and a hedge to forces that would deprive us of those ends. Honor to them as well sir.

"Some people say that our animations..." Dude your animations combined with your storytelling is fantastic. You take factual accuracy seriously and always present all combatants with dignity and respect. My gf isnt in to war stuff at all, but I had her watch the one with the Samurai pilot and she really really liked it, said it was a beautiful story. Anyway, the people who dont like your stuff, I got a word to describe them; Bandits!

Story 2. Sukhoi-22 is an export version of ground attack plane Sukhoi-17. It never been designed for air combat, they do had AAmissiles but only for protection, because they don’t have AA radar. So navy guys didn’t had much risk shooting them down.

I believe that I've been here since just about day 1. Your skill as a story teller, a raconteur, is what makes your videos great. And your growing skills as an artist has been wonderful to observe. The wry inclusion of various nods to pop culture are always a treat, too. I love your landscapes. And you have a poetic style. Those white lilies blooming around the somber wreck of the aircraft was pure f*cking poetry, man. Of them all, that one got me the most...Bond and Goldfinger playing golf is a close second...
