@mariahillenbrand8396 many places dont have specific brands or types of food. Some want to give to family or bring home. I dont condone it and seems like manipulation and lying anlot of the time. Keeping things to thrmselves is a cultural thing too.. governments arent always in their favour..i dunno. When I was in cuba I had a foot injury with boot. I took it off for no hassle. Got to cuba and they pulled me aside for 2ndary checking and said there was an orange in my bag. I had a muffin from the airport. I got pat down and rechecked..but i wonder now if it was the colour orange on the scans are organic things..i was being honest. Its scary to tell them you are on narcotics prescribed.. in mexico a guard at the doorway wanted to search again and asked about it.. that didnt make me comfortable. I cant imagine lying and hiding.. i save receipts of make one for any purchases and hand that to them and it matches my total lol

Really it's his own fault. If he had just gone to the Australian Embassy in the UK and applied for a visitor visa there they would most likely have taken on board that the conviction was a long time ago and if he hasn't done anything since they they would probably grant it and he would have sailed through on arrival. However he lied about it once before and then did it again leaving them no choice. Obviously he's embarrassed about it but the people in the embassy have probably seen it all before and deal with this stuff every day.

1:42:57. Now this man I actually have sympathy for. To a certain degree. As he says. Even though I understand that it is a serious case, Why should he be still held accountable for something that happened 40 years ago. That is seriously ridiculous. I mean, does this mean the man is now prevented from ever traveling abroad? He should however have declared it on arrival. In fact, he should have even known the facts regarding his former conviction before he left England. Now, on the other hand there is also the matter of him actually overstaying the conditions of his visa on a previous occasion by over two years and no... I do not believe his telling of the story that he just wanted to make sure his daughter has settled in and made friend and such. Sorry buddy, but that does not warrant a three year stay when your visa was clearly issued for only six moths. Why is it that I have never ever even traveled abroad, yet I am aware of all these regulations, yet people who often travel, seems oblivious to it? It makes no sense.

I'll preface my comment with: I realize he made a poor decision the last visit. But he was trying to do the right thing this time. He could've easily lied again, but he decided to be truthful, and it worked against him. My heart breaks for the grandfather 😢 He just wanted to see his children and hold his grandbaby for the 1st time. He paid his debt to society over 40 years ago. That kid was just power-hungry! He could've let that man in.

Why did Australia grant the English man a visa and waste everyone's time and money in the first place? No new information was revealed in the interview. They could have easily denied his visa application and been done with it. Granting a visa and then arbitrarily revoking it upon arrival is cruel.

I get the population & poverty, lack of access to resources one will eat what ever they can for survival. Yet there’s many who come to America & other countries that provide abundant resources & yet they STILL continue these ways!
