growlingbehemoth the purpose of luxury watches is not only to tell the time accurately; a consumer looking for the most accurate time keeper would stick to quartz watches or not buy a watch and just use their phone. These types of watches are luxuries for collectors, people passionate about horology, and art enthusiasts not looking to simply to tell the time but to hold pieces of art that can pass from generation to generation. By your logic you could argue luxury cars are useless as well (you could use public transport instead or buy a cost effective car), as with most high end products. Best of luck

T5 Delta Bangalore but still, I'm into swords very much and I wouldn't spend a ridiculous amount of money on a sword. My point is what makes that 30k watch better than the 10k watch. There is a point where more money doesn't mean better or if it is better it is very negligible.

Most of those are collector pieces (limited to 18 piece made or so). As such they go up in value. It's like owning gold or something else. Doesn't depreciate so it justifies the upfront purchase price. Most of us can't buy these though.
