I cannot agree more when it comes to pens. The pen is mighter than the sword. Carrying one has placed me in many situations where transactions occurred. In addition, they type you write with affects your handwriting. It is part of my EDC. Your videos are by far educational yet entertaining.

Yeah I always carry with me a Parker rollerball and a fountain pen with me, they have been very useful in many times. Also the last time I tried to carry with me a sword the police were stopping me all the time

Same for me. In the last 5-6 years I've become a pen aficionado and keep a fancy Fellholter or equivalent on me at all times, and I keep a lesser Zebra pen for when I let someone "borrow" one to write something down.

Love the fact you talked about lapel pins. A few years ago I was taking a transatlantic crossing on the Queen Mary 2. Dress code goes into effect after 6pm on the ship. Informal night mean gentalmen are required to at least wear a jacket, though most wore a suit. I had my Eagle Scout lapel pin on and one of my tablemates asked about it. It generated great conversation over dinner. People notice the little things so really glad to hear about that one.

Ever since my first deployment in the Army I've been caring a handkerchief. My fellow troopers gave me shit for it but, with how often I used it and them seeing how useful it could be most of them started to carry one around.

lol....same here. Since 2003 I've always had at least one on me at all times. Most of the time I carry 2...one nice one for me, and a basic white one in case I need to hand it to someone else.

Rings: I have a dispute with a friend on which hand's ring finger I should wear my University of Texas ring? He says the right hand. I say since I am right-handed it interferes with my writing. Is there a rule of etiquette about which hand to wear the class ring on? Some say after you graduate it moves from left to right. I am not so sure. What are your thoughts? I'd be more worried that someone older than 25 is still wearing a ring proclaiming which school they went to. 🤨 I mean, I don't put my award-winning photographs from highschool on my my studio wall because holy crap have I moved on from then. Hopefully you've progressed from that period, too.

I wasn't taught much regarding classic men's fashion growing up but the one lesson they (figuratively!) beat into me was: "Don't leave the house without your wallet and a handkerchief." Nowadays you could definitely add a phone to that list and personally I would also add a watch. I still carry a handkerchief on me at basically all times, you never know when you might need it. Even if you don't have a cold or whatever, it can be used to clean up tears, blood or sweat or other fluids if necessary. PS: I feel like your videos lately have been on fire and I'm also a big fan of the shorts. Hopefully I could even earn a challenge coin one day ;)

My grandfather used to always maintain that a gentleman had both. Preferably a gentleman had two hankies and one pocket square. The pocket square was optional, but the hankies were necessary. The first handkerchief was yours, but second was to be kept clean and available for someone else in an emergency. He also maintained that a gentleman always had an umbrella to hand if it were needed.

Great video Antonio and of course I agree with almost everything you recommend. I'm more "minimalist" when it comes to the jewelry so I try to stick with a watch and no more than 1 ring per hand. Speaking of rings, what Smart ring are you using and can you give some recommendations? I've heard of them before but I've never really done any exploring/research on them so I hope you can provide some insight for me.

I am a huge fan of gold jewelry, and I presently am wearing four rings...on my left hand is my wide wedding band that is worn on top of my diseased father-in-law's narrow wedding band. On my right hand there are three rings...1. on my little finger is my grandmother's signet wedding ring that my grandfather won in a poker game on the ship that brought him to America just prior to WWI and the my uncle wore through WWII when he drove a tank onto Omaha Beach at Normandy. 2. On my middle finger is my wife's maternal grandfather's signet ring from the 1920s. 3. On my ring finger is a large diamond solitaire set in a strong mounting that came from an engagement ring that was returned to me in the 70s. 40+ years later, that was one of the greatest things that ever happened to me! The three rings on my right hand might be a little much for many guys, but each of these rings (and the ones on my left hand) has a very special meaning to me and is a great reminder of who I am and from I came in my life! The keep me humble, but at the same time keep me strong!

Had a funny thought! Im no rich guy, but ive always wanted a fancy pen! I work as a professional musician, and teacher. If i have a fancy pen to sign my signature, or confirm my students have their assignments done i'd feel good checking it off with one. Im gonna start trucking too, so signing documents and confirming that the job is done with the pen sounds cool! 😎

I'm a fair-skinned guy. As long as I need to protect myself from skin cancer, hats will be one of my accessories. And if I'm wearing one, I want to look good while doing it. I have a linen flat cap for warm weather, and a wool/tweed one for cool weather.

3:03 Just as a heads-up masks in various forms have been an essential accessory in East Asia for the past 20 years or so. We wear them when we've got a cold, in crowded subways, or when there's air pollution, also some women wear them if they don't want to get too much sun exposure or if they can't be bothered doing their makeup that day. You might want to get on board with your own washable or reusable line of comfy masks 😁

Sad for pocket watches, prefer them more since I got my hands up to my elbows doing stuff getting wet or dirt..saves time cleaning especially metal bands. As for hankerchiefs I use one with a great pattern as a pocket square and a regular one for wiping sweat, tears, and snot.😅😂🤧

Neck gaiters with biult in masks are pretty cool, but please next time make the ad about your tracking-everything ring that sounds amazing. About the rest: I have an aviator (with jeans+hite T+leather jacket is still _the_ American style). Pen; I use a cheap but elegant blak and silver rotating type, with built in rubber at the top for touch screens. Way better than I expected for $4. And the pins: I have a school one by graduation, and one membership pin. Even on a leather jacket they give some serious vibe to the outfit - of course, only in certain events. Pins are some way like a uniform for me, as they reperesenting a company on a person.

Regarding club masters. I know a fair few people who want them but they are typically too small. Ray ban offer 3 sizes 49, 51 and 55, 55 is their Asian fit and the largest. Asian fit fits me perfectly. So club masters for all.

Pocket knife or multi-tool, an absolute must. Preferably a mother of pearl stiletto or Leatherman Wave. Want to go a step further? Engrave it with either your favorite slogan, your name or a Bible scripture.

TIMEX make some great classic American pieces that aren't expensive. I recommend a simple Expedition Scout in brown. If you prefer something minimalistic, elegant, and affordable, then check out Scandinavian watch brands like Skagen or Bering.

Several sunglass brands offer prescription services. I have a pair from Maui Jim. The optometrist sends your prescription to the factory and they grind custom lenses for you. I got mine shipped from the US to Australia in a couple of weeks. They aren't cheap but they're worth every penny.

Handkerchiefs are highly important. Try attending an important meeting or being in court with a seasonal sniffle. Men don't generally carry a handbag everywhere, and therefore can't afford to have a huge stash of Kleenex.

I think you're wrong about face mask. I first came into contact with them in the late 90s when I was stationed in Korea. After that I started to learn the culture behind them. In like 2017/18 I bought some one time use mask. My family thought I was crazy. We know how that turned out. No matter how Americans may see the mask after all this as over. There are other cultures that won't let it go. Which will make it part of the American culture, no matter what any of us think.

I live in a cosmopolitan city. I've been seeing members of the Asian population (I'm not certain whether they were native or visiting) wearing face masks on public transportation for years pre-pandemic. I intend to emulate that behavior post-pandemic. I might only end up wearing it on the train, but that's still going to make it a regular accessory.

I have to disagree with you, Antonio. Pocket watches have not gone out of style. I wear mine when I get dressed up, . . . or not. I also have a wrist watch, but it is not as much fun as m pocket watch. And having worked a a journalist, I have a collection of pens - Mont Blanc, Waterford, and cheap stick pens. Which one (or ones) I have with me depends on how dressed up I'm feeling.

The ad entry in these lists usually sticks out like a sore thumb, and this one is no exception. Neck gaiters, a timeless accessory? Come on now. Neck gaiters are fine for a few practical uses (I use one for yardwork), but they're hardly stylish or timeless. Every other entry on this list makes sense, and is something you might see someone wearing or using around town just because they like how it looks.
