Heyoooooo! Welcome to my channel or welcome BACK to my channel, I've hit the 8-month mark with my locs and instead of retwisting wanted to use these video as a check-in but also as a reflection and advice video. First I show my progress so far then go into the top 5 tips I have for those interested in starting locs and some things I'm changing going forward. Thanks for watching!

I agree about the whole ugly stage thing. I love the frizz and untamed look of my hair. It means it’s progressing. I love that it’s always changing with me.

I don't call it the ugly stage. But it is the frustrating stage for me. I am 10 months in and my hair is still super thick at some ends and stringy in other places. I don't put wigs or wraps over it. I wear it naturally. So, I have limited styling choices. But I love my hair just like I loved my daughter when she was in the terrible twos or the rebellious teens. Now she is a beautiful married mother of my 4 year old grandson. So, all of the frustration was totally worth it. My locs are my new babies.

I started this journey on 4/20/21 I went in with a positive attitude and my hair is flourishing so nicely. I speak positive affirmations to my hair I massage my scalp, using growth oil every 3 days. This journey is also a spiritual journey I’m prepared to embrace every stage! This was one of the best decisions I made in my life! Love you’re hair, nurture it it and you’re hair will be good to you 💟

@KennedyEco
@KennedyEco 3 жыл бұрын
I did what I called a “scalp reset” it essentially dried my scalp out but in a good way lol I did an acv spray bottle treatment and left that on for 20 minutes. Then I shampooed once with tea tree castille soap and once with selsen blue shampoo. Now I primarily use selsen blue and follow up with a moisturizing shampoo. When I was struggling with my scalp i also found that less was more for me when it came to oils. Oiling my scalp a lot was causing more irritation

Thank you for talking about the washing once a week. My Stylists was getting on me last week because I was not been washing my hair. My hair has been very dry. So I’m going to start washing my hair once a week. I have had my locs for almost 3 years.

For some people, their hair is dry because they've been washing too much, that's what happened to me, do you think you haven't been washing frequently enough? Because that can cause dry locs too. Just curious since I recently started my loc journey and I like hearing about other people's scalps and stuff :)
