Some of my faves (coming to my mind right now) were not quoted so here there are: Slow and steady wins the race! (Though Rome wasn't built in a day is quite similar indeed:-) Actions speak louder than words! It’s better to be safe than sorry Learn to walk before you run A problem shared is a problem halved Where there's a will, there's a way You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs Beauty is in the eye of the beholder 'One single being you miss and the world is depopulated' / un seul être vous manque et tout est dépeuplé ! I was lucky enough to find such a dictionary brimming with idiom in a thrift shop, because they are very rare newprinted , and - or because- they cost you an arm and a leg. You know what they say.. after I took a gander in second hand book shops... " Seek and ye will find " ( I especially love the old fashioned proverbs with thy ,thou , thee or ye in it , puzzling away what they exactly mean) 😊

Talking of life, I had a teacher of English who used to say, "Life is too short for long words and sentences." I'd like to add two more proverbs: "Life is made up of little things," and "Life is not a bed of roses." Like you, I worship proverbs. At the beginning, I really love your accent and that's what I try to learn from you. But the more I watch you, the more I see that you are truly a good person, and that makes me want to support you more. And I'm so sorry that you were experiencing some back pain and you have to take painkiller to ease it. I hope your pain will subside soon. And by the way, I want to share one of my most favorite proverbs which says "“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” So that teaches me to be joyful and not be anxious too much, since our reaction affects our mood and feelings quite significantly.^^ Anyway hope you all the joy and best things in life and keep shining your bright light to the beautiful world, elegant lady Katherine!
