Electric bill price is based on two months usage. Rental is based on location,location. I lived here the past six years. A one bedroom apartment in local neighborhood is reasonable. 8,000 to 10,000 pesos per month. The summers are like Florida in the summertime.

What's a local neighborhood? They're all local if they're in PV. The price is always based on location, amenities and size, eyc no matter where you live.

I just watched a video from one of your neighbors talk about cost of living. I will repeat what I told him. Our rent for a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment is $2,400 monthly. This is still in expensive considering we live 5 miles from Laguna Beach SoCal. Out electricity is also $75 - $100. You didn't say what you spend on restaurants but we spend $300, and another $700 on groceries. Your cost of living is still a lot less than ours here in SoCal. I am always interested in ex-pats videos on the cost of living in Mexico. We have visited P.V. now 9 times and this December will be the 10th. The only other place we would like to live would be in Loreto BCS. Thanks for the video!

thank you for watching, and glad you found some value. overall Mexico is still less expensive than most US cities you definitely get more bang for the buck here.

I am from Toronto, Canada and lowest rent is 2300 for small unit and cost of living high and weather not great . Gas to get around high also . So think PV isn’t so bad. No nice beaches either

Just arrived in Coyoacan a couple days ago...After 2 weeks in Ensenada (that place is 1 big pothole lol)...Cant seem to find "my place" in Mexico.Lived in Miraflores Lima Peru for 6 years and really enjoyed it...Trying to find something new...I paid $11 usd for a chicken sandwich and fries in a tiny little local restaurant here in Coyoacan..Not cheap

Yeah, you have to be careful in Coyoacán, lots of pricey places because it's a popular tourist area

Great information. Been a yearly tourist for 20 years and been debating a move that long. We are making plans to probably rent an airbb for 6-12 months. And look for something more permenent. Rent/ buy if that goes well. We have been their in the summer and it was awful humid. So that may be a challenge. I NEED my AC lol. So tips on being energy aware was appreciated. Will be watching the rest of the videos soon. Chez elena a favorite. But up those hills. We would taxi up and walk down. Lol

yeah, those hills can be a challenge for anyone. hopefully, your possible move goes well, and you make the leap just keep that ac cranked😅🌴🌡

Don't forget the government too. Just like in the USA, to blame lots of our problems on immigrants is a flimsy excuse

Our electric bill in PV last summer was easily 10k-14k on average. We only had 2 AC units which we primarily ran at night. So be prepared.

@@dreamlifeinMexicoyes and they were brand new mini splits as well. I think our daughter was “secretly” running hers 24/7. Either way it was one of the reasons sleep moved to San Miguel. Our electric bill was $400 pesos 😊

Of course you can. If they're from the area or town they're locals. If they are tourists from other parts of Mexico, they are national tourists, as compared to international tourists. Pretty simple, I thought. 🤷

🤣🤣 Puerto Vallarta is my paradise. It may not have worked for you, but I beg to differ. Your experience is not mine, so as a traveler, it is terrible to trash a tourist destination based on your experience. Your title said it all.🤦‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

@dreamlifeinMexico

I'm not too sure about that. it's is more expensive than most, but cdmx and cabo may have something to say about that, and I can't speak for the rest of Latin America

It is not, colonia Condesa and Santa Fe, Lomas de Chapultepec and others are the most expensive, located in Mexico City
