Honestly the only breed that I trust ! I've been bite by pits , and German shepherds and some other big breeds but boxers are supper loving too and so smart and seriously the best looking dog ever !

It's so hard saying goodbye hardest thing I've done in my adult life was carry my MooMoo to be put down because she had cancer couldn't let her suffer but dam my heart was broken. But my New MeeMee is just as wonderful as my Moo was of course she is a Boxer

My big boy Gator lived 13 years. Bone cancer took him from us. Best dog I ever had. He was 75lb in his prime. Very protective of my wife and children.

I got my first boxer when I was 6 years. She died when I was 18. Since then, my husband and I have had 7 boxers in our 53 years of marriage. Our current boxer is 17 months old and quite a character. The only other breed we have had was a German shepherd.

Me too, always Boxers. I have a Cane Corso and a Boxer and these breeds play well together and "get" each other. I've found them similarly goofy and loving. How does a German Shepherd go with a Boxer?

Boxers are family. Gentle, playful, loving, protective. I've had two and both were wonderful companions. Yes, they sit on you, and love to be near you. They can seem ferocious if they feel they need to protect you. I noticed that when walking Barb, he would always place himself sideways between me and anyone I was talking to he did not know. Stubborn indeed. Barb was left alone too long one day and I came home to find him in the front yard waiting for me. He had been in the back yard with a 7 foot privacy fence, but managed to get over the fence in a clever way, (I watched him by leaving, parking and walking back to see how he did this). Bath time and I was sure I had given no clues. I made the mistake of leaving the door open to the yard and he was buried so deeply in bushes I could not get him out, (they know how to focus their weight). One night my neighbor was having a party and Barb was welcomed. He would not come in so I went on to bed. In the morning I couldn't find him where he normally rested. Instead he was on the couch and refused my offer of a walk or treats. Come to find out that he had been the life of the party, dancing with every female there: he was beat! For all this, the love and companionship, the crazy times, being used as a bed, and the clever nature of his playful but obedient manner, I miss him dearly.

in my personal opinion a Boxer is the best dog breed a family can own. Theyre smart dogs, energetic, love to play, and extremely loyal. Ive had 3 Boxers, 2 when i was younger and i got one when i was on my own. Ive loved every one. unfornately my current boxer is getting old, her back legs are giving out and it breaks my heart

@@doodles8706 it happened pretty quickly, maybe a week or so. The night before he could not even lie down, so he had not been sleeping. I kept trying to get him to lie down, would bribe him with treats but it was hard for him to get down and as soon as he got his treat he would try to get back up as he must have been in pain just lying down. A lot of his bones had fused and the vet said there wasn’t really anything they could do and it would just get worse. You could hear he was in pain just walking around, wasn’t nice. If your dog is not in pain that’s good, if my boxer had not been in pain we would have dealt with whatever came but he just couldn’t sleep at all and was in pain all day. We all get old I suppose, just enjoy whatever time you have with your dog. Sounds like it’s not quite as bad as my dog, as long as dog is not in any pain it should be ok.

@douglashyslop2209 it my breaks my heart just seeing my dog struggle to walk so I can only imagine how you fealt. Im aorry you had to go throughthat with your dog. They become our best family members... I know as long as she isn't in pain I'll do anything to accommodate her. I've looked into dog wheel chairs already. I know I'm going to try and cherish however much time I have left with her and make it as easy on her as possible....

Same. I've owned nothing but Boxers and they are the best. The same thing I hear is "They are hyper" that is due to poor breeding practices. The breed standard does not include hyperactivity. Usually hyper boxers are (like I said) poor breeding practices and poor early training and lack of exercise. They are the perfect family breed for me.

I've owned nothing but Boxers and if you find a good breeder, train and set boundaries early, and exercise them properly they are the most rewarding dog you can own. Search for European line boxers. They are healthier and have less behavioral issues.

I have to say I'm so blessed to have found my stray boxer I love him so much and my stray cat. No signs no chips in the ears. Thank you for educating people on what they need to know I said that before and I'll say it again and also I've said this before there are some beautiful boxes and other canines and felines that you can adopt an animal shelters you do not have to go and buy from a breeder stop buying from breeders adopt

I love my boxers through all these years. I had my first 2 dogs 30 years back and after they passed I had 4 dogs after that. I am 75 and my dog now 6. She is actually spoiled because it's only the 2 of us. Will never buy a different breed, I loved them all.

I have a boxer, bought her sight unseen after attempting to adopt a dog.. what a joke .. so I went to Upstate NY by my sister farm and drove around to find anyone selling boxers.. there was one left.. I bought her and have been in love since day one.. she's beautiful ,funny,smart ,stubborn and very athletic.. Frisbee is her favorite! I thank God for her everyday?! She is with me 24 hours a day. And IF she needs to stay home now and then she has her 4 cats to keep her company.. of you like being outdoors and want a real best friend.. get a Boxer!!!

I did Boxer rescue in Ohio. Lighthouse Boxer rescue. My problem was everyone I rescued I kept ❤ they are amazing dogs. They wanted to be by the kids more than anyone else ❤

I live with 5 boxers 3 female 2 males easiest dogs to house train Yes they do shed , but brush them daily and it will curb the amount of hair.very loyal loving dogs great with kids , very smart and very gassy.

I just rescued 10 yr male white boxer,tho with horrible teeth and ears,thanx to a kind vet ,I senior retired & on limited $,has allowed me to now make pymts to start the surgery,he currently on medication,but tho ears treatment couple times,he partially deaf Because of both issues,,,he has beautiful brown eyes with snow flake lashes & he smiles and shakes& quite my joy BuBz dogkid😊

Best dog breed ever, I mean like ever end ever lol. They have so much personality and their facial expressions and vocals will make you laugh. My boy will sit in front of me and carry on whole conversations. They can be naughty but in the funniest ways, very cheeky dogs. Most loving dogs I've ever owned. My 93lb boy thinks hes a lap dog when he wants a hug or cuddle. My only problem is, I think two large dogs is a bit much so I'm looking for a smaller dog with all the characteristics of a boxer. I'll still always own a boxer as one of my dogs, cause they're just that awesome, but I'm on the search for a smaller dog who is essentially a mini version of a boxer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I absolutely love my Boxer female. They are so much fun, this is about my 4th one and I just couldn't have a different breed, they are everything I could want in a dog. This one is the sweetest of them I have had, jumps up on my shouders to cuddle her head against mine, just super sweet considerate dogs. True that they will tear stuff up until about 1-2yrs old, but after that they grow into the perfect dog. Just keep lots of balls and toys around when young and they will tear those up instead of other things. They definitely need love and attention, and they appreciate it, you can tell.

I got my 2nd when my mom passed and I have been home all the time. By far the best dog I’ve ever known. He will not leave my side, goes everywhere with me and is protective of my wife. He loves us both and his day isn’t complete without play and love from both of us. Would never own a different breed. As I tell home daily best dog ever.

Lots of excersize. Always work your Boxer while walking. Stop walking, they should sit. Turn and they should turn and sit. Right here means at my left heel with no pulling. Do this on every walk. It stimulates their brain. Better Boxer. Do it consistently.

So crazy! My boxers never really shed until after they turned 8 years old. That's one of the reasons we settled on a boxer cause my husband is asthmatic and allergic to everything. And yeah, most dogs don't like to be left alone for long periods of time. They are pack animals and don't like to be alone. Have 2 dogs. It's not more work. It's actually less most of the time.

I have had 2 boxers, neither were noisy! Both my boxers, have bad anxiety. one, got locked him slef in a room and ripped the door in half! Still my fav breed! All smart Dogs, take till 2 to mature! Labs are the same! Still my favorite breed! my current dog Samson, is a boxer and A great and gentle Dog!

I have had 4 now. Every single one of them has passed from cancer. All of them were purchased from different breeders. None of them were purchased from puppy mills. They are amazing dogs but they require owners who are willing to spend a lot of time with them. They are very playful and very needy. Some are also very picky eaters to the point it may become very stressful finding them a diet which they are happy with. I have had one who was very aggressive as well. All that said, they are still my favorite breed of dog and its not even close.

I was loyal to the APBT until I got my first Boxer 3 years ago. I recently got another pup so now I have 2 and will probably never own another breed! My oldest is 3 and she is a big baby that still lays on me like a puppy and tugs😅 on my pants as she follows me around. Definitely dogs with LONG puppy lives but I love it.

I love boxers I've had him since 1980. I found a white boxer or it may be a mix of miniature boxer with brindle spots on him and he is absolutely beautiful. I did have one boxer who was extremely bad about separation anxiety. So if you went everywhere with Mama aka me along with his little girlfriend a deer fawn color boxer with beautiful brisket and white around the neck they were besties they loved each other and I have never seen two dogs kiss as much as they did literally it was just something else to see there in Heaven now Along with many other boxers and pets that I've had including horses I think it is best to go to an animal shelter they have absolutely gorgeous boxers there. People need to get outside when it's not extremely hot as a boxer is prone to heat stroke or should I say heat exhaustion as they need plenty of water to drink and shade and yes sir you're right they need to stay in the house they are excellent guard dogs I wouldn't worry about going hiking as a matter of fact me and my canine boxer going hiking soon. I love him❤ I love all animals You have to think like a animal do you know savvy. Get off the couch get off the phone and go play with your dog. But thank you for the information you provided. My boxer drinks very little water when I go somewhere. We agree on the heat.. People please go to the shelters and adopt they are some beautiful canines felines there. Yes purebreds but I don't think it has to be a purebred for something to love you and especially you love them back. I think they need a mate and I think they need to be altered AKA spayed and neutered. I love all animals. MANY are just neglected abused a completely ignored. Lastly they can get mouth rot what it means is the lips stay moist all you do is just rub it off and put hydrogen peroxide on it just don't let the hydrogen peroxide get down the throat lean the nose towards the ground and clean their mouth gently It is a very rare thing to happen but it happens. My 10 month old Boxer girl is the biggest snuggler couch potato out there! Once she gets her exercise (which is as important for me as it is for her) she's a hige cuddle bug! Still thinks she's a lap sized pup, even though she just hit 50lbs..😂

Easiest dog to own. And train. Trust me, I've got a Doberman, and I've had a boxer. Doberman = 100x more energy than a boxer.

I have my first boxer and Maximus is now 8 months old. And we love him to bits, but he is a handful. We were warned of this before I got him at 8 weeks, but I don't think we were warned enough. Luckily I work from home, so Maxi is never alone. EVER. In fact, we can't even go to the shop for 20 minutes and leave him. He has to go with. In fact, the minute anyone grabs the car key, he's in the car. He howls and whimpers the minute he's left alone, even for 2 minutes. I can't go to the bathroom without talking to him the whole time through the closed door, or he runs up and down the house looking for me, howling and crying. He sleeps on the bed with my husband and I because he can't sleep in the lounge alone. Will I ever get another boxer one day..... Sadly I doubt it. He (for us) is just too much work. He jumps, bites, growls, destroyed the house, constantly grabbing things from the house and running out into the garden with it, doesn't listen to instruction, and cannot be trained because he just doesn't listen. And when he really gets too much and we try to calm him or stop him from his behavour, he angrily growls at you and barks at you, and I'm scared he may bite one day. In this house, he is the boss. And that just won't work. Sad, because we really love him. Just don't know how to deal with him. Boxers need a special breed of human to look after them.
