Just had a mutual break-up and hearing this really helped. I had a lot of toxic behavior that I'm trying to reduce, but some of the issues seem to be just that her and I aren't supposed to be in a romantic relationship. Hearing some of the things that we lacked, like complete trust and comfort with one another; inspiring one another to be their best selves; not being completely comfortable with who the other person is... It hurts a lot, it's barely been 10 hours, but hearing all of this is reassuring that, at least for now, breaking up was the correct decision

Had a relationship with all these things, it was the most wonderful thing ever. Sadly it didn't last because of some really rough circumstances. I hate that i feel all of these things towards someone yet we aren't in a relationship... The only thing that leaves me hopeful is slow progress into them opening up more over time; i don't know if this is stupid but i feel one day they'll suddenly realize how great of a relationship we could have and we will end up dating. But that could just me being hopeful and i should really move on and just be happy with the friendship we have

Seven years ago, I was starting my freshman year of college, when I met the most amazing woman. We were sparring partners in a self-defense class and I really wanted to start a relationship with her. She was a year older than me and going to switch schools once she got her BA. One of my biggest regrets at the time was that I didn't get the chance to tell her how I felt. Years later, in the middle if the COVID pandemic, I reconnected with several people from my past and she was one of them. This time, I got the chance to tell her how I felt and March 11th will be our one year anniversary. While I watch this video, I took notes on each sign and compared it to my relationship with my girlfriend. It's safe to say out relationship will last forever.

I can relate to some of these, not to all of them sadly. My partner is a sweetheart, but always gets super cold whenever there's an inconvenience for her, and many times gets genuinely pissed at little things that don't mean much or anything at all. Sometimes I feel like my support means nothing, and she definitely isn't the communicative during a conflict type. We love each other and been together for years but she is not willing to change that about herself. I'm really struggling at times.

It's hard to believe my parents are still together. Since I was little I thought they would be happier separated. The one week I visited them for Christmas, I would constantly hear my mom call my dad stupid, never take his suggestions into account and she would always control everything. Growing up I used to see my dad cry and when I mention it to mom she would laugh and say she doesn't remember anything. Conveniently she never remembers bad moments, effectively gaslighting anyone that she hurts. One time I listened to my dad as he tried to convince himself that this is just the way he and my mom works in this relationship and that is just the way it is. At least I learned everything that I didn't want in a relationship and I am very happy that my bf and I follow a lot of these signs.

With all my other relationships, there was no build up of true friendship and all those relationships did not end well or last. I’ve never been this happy. I've been with my partner for a few months and we were already best friends before then, but watching this got me much more confident than I already was. She's helped me so much in the short time we've been together and I know she's gonna stay for a long time, whether our partnership is romantic, or platonic

TW: self harm Me and my boyfriend both have depression and I’m proud to say that I am getting a lot better, he and my therapist have helped with that. Him on the other hand, well he cuts and drinks and he’s really tried to stop and he was doing well for a little while but just recently he caved in and said to me that he doesn’t think he can stop. I keep telling him that he needs professional help, that it’s ok to ask for help, and that he deserves to be happy, but he always gets mad when I even mention a therapist and he always says that he doesn’t deserve that kind of help. I try to be cheery around him because I want to be a good influence and it worked a little bit. I know it’s gone to far for to long and I know that I need to tell someone but at the same time, he’s mentioned have fights with his parents and cutting afterwards so I don’t want to tell his parents because I don’t know what they’re like. I don’t know what to do. I would much rather him be alive to hate me than him be dead and me hating him, myself and regretting what I didn’t do. You might be thinking why would I hate him? If he ever killed himself then that means he gave up. He would have given up on himself, me, and everything and everyone else around him. He loves me and I love him, but as much as I hate to say I don’t think I could ever forgive something like that. I don’t know what to do. I want to tell someone who can really help him but I’m afraid he’d hate me afterwards but like I said before I would rather him be alive to hate me. All I want is for him to be happy so we can have a healthy relationship. And I mentioned that he drinks, now I just want to make it clear he does not abuse me in any way in fact he is one of the most sweetest people I know. If anyone has any advice please feel free to share. I also want to add that me and him have most of these in the video

Nothing kinky, just that he's a natural dominant and I'm a natural submissive, and we know this about each other. That said, he consistently asks my thoughts, feelings, and opinions about things (and if he doesn't, I feel free to tell him), and considers them when making decisions, and I try to do the same for him. It's the most balanced relationship I've ever had! because we understand and respect each other at all times.
