Intelligent people are gifted at analyzing concepts and building upon them to form a better understanding of the world and those around them, how everything is connected, and why things are the way they are. A Highly Intelligent Person often has remarkably high IQs, academic achievements, and go on to become successful leaders and trailblazers in their fields. However, they are faced with certain problems and challenges that only they can relate to. Having said that, here are 8 struggles only highly intelligent people will understand.

@Marisol M WARNING: [Please if you prefer understanding what I said and making sure your not misinterpreting what I said please read the entire comment or read it twice to make sure. Since this is a pretty long comment.] Or it means the person has self doubt because they are self aware of their lack of intellect. Or it's the other way around since just, because ones intelligent doesn't mean they are good at self awareness. If one doubts their intellect it's, because they know their intellectual flaws so they assume they aren't that intelligent. If one lacks self awareness, but is intelligent they may doubt their intellect, because they don't want to make assumptions about themselves when they don't know much about themselves. After all most intelligent people tend to do to much learning about THINGS rather than PEOPLE. So they might not be that self aware about themselves. Since weirdly enough learning more about others helps one learn more about themselves. So if you don't do enough socialising you won't understand yourself that well. Unless you do constant self reflection, which I am not 100% sure that would always work out for a person. Since you need more than self reflection to help understand yourself. Since you need to be able to look at other perspectives to further your understanding of yourself. Therefore you still need social interaction. Since most intelligent people are introverted or socially awkward this generally causes problems with the person's self awareness. Though this is not taking into account other things that might be able to by pass all that. Another thing to consider is that this video lists traits that MOST intelligent people have. Their is bound to be abnormality. Like extravert geniuses do exist. There is also the fact that plenty of people have these traits that are listed in the video, but are not geniuses. Most geniuses are introverts, but most introverts are not geniuses.

@Marisol M This is not true. Highly intelligent people rarely lack confidence in their general intelligence, instead they lack confidence in any specific opinion. Understanding that hidden facets of a construct can radically change ones understanding and opinion. Highly intelligent people see and and understand that that any equation which represents a real life phenomenon is going to be immensely complex making high levels of confidence in any specific model irrational.

There are different fields of "highly intelligent". If the IQ is not for you, try the EQ - Emotional Intelligence Quotient. It's more rewarding, anyway. And if that's not for you, you'll find something. Or you create something. Your choice.

One problem with being a highly intelligent person is everyone asks you for advice and asks you questions and when you have to tell them that you don’t know, they’re always surprised that you don’t know things It’s also difficult being intelligent with a very fast brain because you have to get your ideas out fast or you’ll lose them so you don’t have time for things like punctuation or correct grammar sometimes And some people will only look at grammar and punctuation in judge that as a sign of intelligence, but ignore the massive of paragraph I wrote that’s one thing I’ve learned a lot from Reddit people will ignore your entire point just to call you out on your grammar
@barbarav4046

Highly intelligent people do not know all the answers, actually IMO they have more questions that certainties. If people point your grammar out, they certainly miss the point. You don't need to restrict yourself if they don't understand

Or they ask you a question and you do know the answer, but it's not what they wanted to hear. What they were really looking for was a little white lie that would make them feel good about themselves, not the blunt hard facts.

Punctuation is not for slow people. The ability to organize your thoughts into current structure before you lose them is the bare minimum of retention required, and absolutely a pillar of intelligence. Of course the internet loves your comment...

When I was a teenager and realized that I was smarter than average, I started to use my intelligence as a tool for everything (something I kind of notice that people don't do), so I used it for personal growth and overcoming my challenges. I *used* to correlate with most if not all things in this list, but nowadays pretty much all the struggles are gone (although i still don't get out as much, mostly just due to being an introvert, but i still have an active social life)

I relate quite a lot. My interests and hobbies tend to be... different. I quite enjoy mind and thought-provoking stuff like chess, books, and strategy games which not many in my classroom or college department share. Glad to still find a handful of people who do, and whom I can relate to, be it here at home, school, or elsewhere, as friends. Still, it's quite a struggle being the ghost in the corner to whom people would come to approach and appreciate when they need something I have to offer.

But when you learn more you start to realise there's so much you still don't know & are therefore less confident. Unless I think you hit the end genius level & then you know you know a lot on that topic/s.

I was like this before college. Now I have really good friends (I got those at school as well, but not as many), I enjoy more events and I try my best to get into good conversations. Nowadays I have one of the struggles from the video: The pressure to always succeed/ to do something. I've learned that this pressure comes from within but I actually like this urge, because it keeps me moving. You shouldnt be to harsh with yourself and you also shouldnt do too little.

At age 2.5, I got diagnosed with autism in the high functioning area. So I tend to think really logically. But I am so glad, I'm starting to overcome these struggles bit by bit. Because you can learn everything, and if you are one of the people who has these struggles, you can learn it even easier. So I'm fully on my journey to improve my communication skills so I can function well socially. I also really got fascinated in analyzing emotions and how the mind works and this really helped building EQ and feeling better overall.

@shaclownz9477 5 ай бұрын
This video offers great insights, but it overlooks a crucial aspect: Solutions to the struggles. Example: The power of mindset. The key to thriving in any situation lies not just in intelligence, but in developing the right attitude. It's essential to understand your purpose - to ponder deeply on why you're here. Setting clear goals for what you want to achieve during your time on Earth is just as important. Strive for excellence, be adaptable, and regularly engage in self-reflection. Ask yourself any day: 'Am I still happy?', 'Am I still on my path?' 'How can I improve?' Remember, it's the journey itself that's the true destination. Embrace this journey with a positive and purposeful mindset is one of the methodologies to live a happy and purposeful life.

This channel is just an excuse for socially awkward people to feel special and tell them they’re smart. Truly intelligent people would know how not to be like that and would make friends if they wanted to instead of feeling sorry for themselves. omg... I totally relate to that.... I don't have many friends and I feel very guilty at the fact I'm too selective about people. Honestly, having to know more things than others is a real curse. There are some times I think of this as a curse because no one understands you at all, and it's hard to state all of your thoughts out loud, because there are too many of them. I wish I had OP ways of speaking and I wish I could think less carefully about what I'm about to say. Heck, I'm thinking about what I should say not to be offensive or degrading in anyway right now. Honestly, people out there who want to know more... Sometimes, knowledge is a curse that makes you very, very, very depressed. I have some online groups who are friendly, but whenever I'm with people in person, I can't do any small talk unless it relates to my interests and hobbies. I also noticed that the location of an intellectual's home geographically wasn't mentioned and is potentially a very big factor when it comes to social awkwardness and friendship development. I'm located in a rural town away from most of the friends I've made in person from university and college courses, and so I lost contact with them very easily because whilst I knew them in person, I also felt that they wouldn't be interested in meeting up once the courses were over. However, in contrast to my situation, I believe that those who live in big towns and cities are more likely to have longer friendships than those who live further apart that are very likely to just say "let's meet online". It's just not the same. I want to be able to physically meet people I know online on a weekly or daily basis, but everyone I know feels like they live vastly different lives and live further than Id'd be comfortable with travelling. If anyone else who lives and feels like this, please comment or like! It would be nice to know if people agree with my thoughts.

And when I read up on it I agree with everything it says, its so hard to explain to people about my interests unless they already understand it. This is why its so hard for me to work with people, I also always think about what to say before saying it and what their possible reactions to my words could be. I always want to know things and scientific facts. I feel dumb but at the same time I feel smart, its so hard to explain.

Why would you hope for that ? We want people to think they are intelligent and we want them to be incorrect but think they are correct this makes it easier for us actual intelligent people who suffer these drones daily the opportunity to utilise these NPC characters to our benefit and make profits and build and innovate while they are distracted by things that we imply or teach them is important or is worth something , happiness for example , they think they need this or that it’s actually real or something that can be attained lol , the clever part is you just dangle something and say this will make you happy or show them another drone claiming to be happy and get them to smile because we told them smiling means happy , and boom they buy it , but it’s a double edged sword see even though happiness is just a concept and not a tangible proven or sustainable thing or feeling that doesn’t mean it can’t be attained. If they believe this house or car or clothes will make them happy then they will make themselves happy to the best their brain can be it , now this doesn’t last long because humans are better at suffering and hardship and adversity it’s why our species is the dominant species we are worse than cockroaches, you can try and drown and your body will automatically try to survive even better example is a drowning person will drown another person in order to survive without even thinking twice the instincts just kick in and it’s auto mode . So what we do is we let purchase our happy products then we get their influences to demonstrate they don’t bring happiness anymore which they don’t for long anyways because being happy is boring . Best idea was a pandemic , i didn’t buy into the danger of it but u thrived i the fear of society , watching these idiots buy all the toilet paper and show the true nature of humans when it’s do or die they always pick themselves over others it’s only later they will be kind to others and share things etc onl after they have seen someone else do it which is why they panic buying stupid shit in the first place , I could go on forever but I forgot what I was talking about because I’m looking at my memories of these idiots haha omg but yeah don’t go educating people please I need them dumb so I can exploit them , cheers

When I go on trips, my radio is off so I can focus and think about a topic in my head. Or when I walk around in the store I have noise cancelling earbuds with nothing playing so I can focus on a problem in my head. Fascinating to see how there are so many different types of 'intelligent person'. My husband was a lot of the things described in this video : socially awkward; he hated any mundane topics and preferred only complex debate. He was bored if he wasn't tearing down some computer code to make it better. However he didn't enjoy the company of others not up to his intellectual level, which was almost everyone. I'm the one with high IQ but also EQ, so while I struggle with the paralysis by analysis, as well as procrastination and fear of failure, my greatest struggles are when I am alone, with no one to 'validate' my efforts. I make friends easily because I know exactly what to say to every individual, and can hold a conversation tailored to any situation, and I also understand other peoples' points of view to a high degree, which makes debating and philosophical grey areas my specialty.

I would say that as soon as I speak of my ideas relating to science and philosophy and human constructs like marriage my friends who are always judging people and relaying useless information about how much they remember from the past and where they have been, they seem to be annoyed with me that I don't remember those things or I say I try not to judge people. I have begun to realise as I get older that I live in this 24 hours because this is all we have and I've wasted so much of my life in the company of people who just have good memory's for people's lives they have come across, hey ho thanks for this,

@Fallon Waye you can find happiness- before you find awareness. If you're not aware you arent aware of who knows what, whats not to be happy about? Life would be exceedingly more simple and easy to understand. And how can you truly feel entitled to tell someone else their happiness is wrong or incorrect? I think i just argued in defense of science deniers but 🤷

The connotations of ignorance are always negative. Even if ignorant people tend to be happier, it doesn't mean that their lifestyle is more practical than the one of those who are aware of the harsh side of the world. The more knowledge you accumulate, the more benefits it rewards - because with more knowledge, navigating around the world becomes easier; your life becomes generally better. It is better to search for the flaws of something, rather than only watching its positive side.

Pov: You need a 7 min KZfaq video to validate your intelligence. The amount of urge you felt to click on this, defines your perception about your own self. In my opinion, it's rare that people would have decided to watch this out of curiosity, to increase their understanding about behavioral psychology. And that, in my opinion, is how this channel runs i.e A direct statement on your identity, is what runs this channel. However, the points mentioned here are valid but does not represent the entirety of the the personality or behavioral traits mentioned. Somehow managing to associate a common particular trait with intelligence has proved to be beneficial for both, the creators and viewers, financially and emotionally respectively. Keep it up. Test and practice your analytical skills, problem solving skills, spacial reasoning skills and verbal comprehension skills if a "higher level of intelligence " is what you desire. -A practicing Neurologist

(burp) Moooorty . tbh a smart person shouldn't have a hard time communicating with anyone because they're smart enough to recognize how other people communicate and match their level effectively. The "smart people hate small talk" thing immediately throws me off because small talk is a great way to get to know someone and communicate with very low stakes. To imply that "smart people" only want to talk about high-concept, complicated shit is stupid. I love debate and media analysis and high-concept stuff, but it gets exhausting. Talking about the weather or a something "unimportant" is easy. It's like saying "talented baseball players don't want to just play catch" or something. Of course they do. Shoot.

M-K-L i don‘t agree with that statement. Actually, highly intelligent people have a hard time communicating with other people, because they usually have other mannerisms and interests. Thats why gifted students are often bullied in school, apart from the jealousy. Being socially intelligent isn’t the same as being highly intelligent 🤷‍♀️
@maanokay2553

Tinker Belle “gifted students are bullied in school” is exactly the kind of generalization that causes this misunderstanding. It isn’t even necessarily accurate. As a socially anxious gifted student who was never bullied in school, I feel the need to voice that this correlation between intelligence and social ineptitude is complete bologna. There are confident smarties. There are shy dummies. It’s never as black and white as many like to think.

I feel like another struggle of being highly inteligent is that as through most of school everything is incredibly easy to you and you never felt challenged which leads to complacency and lack of any motivation to try and also your not getting the skills you eill need later in life like being able to put a lot of effort into things as youve probably almost never done it early on in life so when things do start to get a bit more challenging later on in life either in university or work wherever it be you wont be able to find the drive and motivation to learn it properly

Some things I noticed while in Mensa: “If you’re so smart, why aren’t you rich?” was a question a lot of us heard. Also, while I had hoped I found my tribe, I in fact dropped out after experiencing way too much ego (“As my good friend Albert Einstein would say…”), one-upmanship (two guys break in on each other about their job importance and salaries. When one, for some reason noticed me and asked what I did, and I answered I walked dogs, I was immediately dismissed.) rudeness (I spilled a glass of water and a woman at the table savagely called me a “brainiac” and I mean really being mean). “Smart” people can still have a lot of trauma and insecurities and I am grateful for those years I did spend in Mensa to see this firsthand and take stock in myself. Am I perfect? Oh, hell no! But happily, I am able to identify my shortcomings and work on them.

However it’s hard to not relate for some of these. Especially the things with small talk , constantly craving intellectual stimuli , and being socially awkward. It’s much more significant now with how recently I’ve attempted to be more friendly towards people which really confuses them which is funny to me however it does not create the desired outcome and maybe they just aren’t used to it and I need to do it more.

The main issue I've witnessed is the frustration intelligent people have when trying to explain a concept and piecing the facts together in an analytical manner that they have to repeat themselves or over simplify to other individuals. The other issue is that many individuals believe they are far more intelligent than they are.

a lot people are just good at retaining info really well and can spout off what they learnt similar to a parrot not fully understanding what there talking about. most of my friends were like this. i did not learn too much in school because i was always questioning what i was being taught like why does this word do that and why do you put the ' there and what not i found a new way to do long division that was faster because i questioned almost everything and the teacher forced me to use there way and a year and a half later they were advertising tutorials for it all over tv shopping. for instance its amazing how many people don't understand what surgical masks are intended to do.... I've seen news with politicians nurses and even doctors for hells sake yes even doctors get it wrong. just remember being well educated does not make you intelligent. unless you have the intelligence to work with the info you learn your just a dumb sponge. maybe these apparent intellectuals you speak are just educated sponges that do well in social because usually wen they say something you can put 2 and 2 together and you point it out to these well educated people your usually met with the same smug silence or lack of response just like any normal dummy. if they are educated and claim to be woke you can instantly assume they have 0% intelligence. :)

I once thought I was smart, but I was mistaken. People who know me considered me to be a bit too serious and overly philosophical, even when being humorous. I think what was really always going on was that I was different, very, very, very different, having a radically different world view, value system and modes of conduct, such that interacting with people became a pointless exercise. So, after decades of trying to "fit in", I stopped trying, now largely avoid human contact and have resigned myself to a life of solitude. I mostly, read, go to the gym, hike, cycle, kayak, and spend lots of time in forests, on mountains and in deserts. It's a simple, but happy life.

But my social awkwardness can (and frequently will) override that cautiousness, and I end up saying some really unfortunate and ill-advised things. As for pressure to succeed, it is a hard one to deal with, but truth be told: it has propelled me forward to places I never imagined I could go when I was a listless and depressed self-medicator. I came to America with nothing 6 years ago at the end of this month, and now I'm married with 5 children and I bought a house almost a year ago. I still feel like I haven't achieved nearly enough. I am burdened to accomplish things, the felt necessity of which is like the need to breathe.

I overcame social awkwardness by realizing that the point to small talk is exactly that it is trivial. I small talk were serious it would become a way to threaten or intimidate others causing social interactions to be more adversarial . Social interactions should be non threatening so we can interact, therefore the subjects should be unimportant. I learned to talk sports and such as though I was just going with the rules of the game. I also realized that being outgoing and friendly is good if you make the outgoing action centered on building up the other person and showing a sincere interest in them. (Dale Carnegie stuff) Even the most inane social settings can provide examples of interest ,if you are bored, by looking at it all as a study in behavior. The friend part is hard, but the chess example in the video hit home for me. There are groups of people with similar interests where you can find friends, but it takes a lot of searching. When seeking friends however, you should look for good hearted people more than intelligent people.
