Since the Golden age, Diana was portrayed as one of strongest heroes - not only for her physical prowess, but for her training - she literally trained her whole life to be the fighter she is, in most of her incarnations. In some she is even the one who teaches Clark how fo fight. Sure, physical power is one thing, but you need to take into account her powers are partialy magic based, she has acces to enchanted weapondry and she is used to fight overwhelming enemies - to the point she defeated Ares, which was able to beat Superman easily. Moreso this is a comic, power level generally varies between different incarnations, sometimes even in two books from the same run. To her damage resistance - she is show to have incredible regenerative powers - both in her body and stamina. While shes weaker than Super-family to slashing/piercing weapondry those can't actually in most incantation do real damage - they basicaly just pierce the skin. Blunt and magical damage resistance is, on the other side, much larger - as with most heroes, to be honest - she is repeatedly.shown to bebable to go toe-to-toe with oponents that can give superman run for his money. Case and point: Konvikt in 2008, was able to tank Supes punches, but Diana was able to fight him one-on-one. Clarks posibly biggest feat of strength was, when he pushed the Sun once. You know whocelse did that as early as in 1947? Diana. Tl.dr. She isn't as durable, but she is nearly as strong while having skill and equipment advantage. As of now, if i recall corectly from all of theyr duels, she actually win few more (like by really small margin one or two more victories, while most are draw). P.s. She literally is from race of amazons originally, in modern incarnations she is demigod by fathers side (Zeus), Amazonian by mothers. In the comic universe, Amazonia (i.e. Paradise island) is a fictional country.
