IT'S. FINALLY. HERE.
Okay so why did this take so freaking long?
1) I'm a very busy person.
2) I'm a perfectionist and I didn't want to put out a crap product. Honestly I'm still not entirely happy. Right now idk if I'm just too critical of my own work or it actually does not sound as good as it could. Toward the end I stopped trusting any and all personal judgement and got outside opinions. (Thanks Adam!)
3) Unlike Bad Apple!! Acapella where everyone stuck to one particular part (melody, harmony, bass, etc...), here everyone is singing EVERYTHING. With all those part switches, dynamic control was tricky. Mixing and mastering was the most time consuming part of this whole thing... I did my best but I think as few parts are still kind of iffy. Ugh. Never again. My next acapella is going to be as straightforward as it gets!
But yeah some production notes: I did a LOT more editing on the vocals outside of Vocaloid than I did in Bad Apple. ALL the EQ! It ended up giving it a fuller sound, but I can't decide if I like that better than the "natural" sound of each Vocaloid. What do yall think? Also, methinks I need to work on tuning Rin and Len better.

FAQ
Q: What is this I don't even...
A: Vocaloid. A cappella.
Q: How'd you do this.
A: Virgin sacrifice... Sheet music helps :) Most of this was taken from sheets but there are some original parts in here.
Q: How'd you make the beatbox?
A: Gumi English. I just played around with the phonemes until I got a sound that I liked. Why English? More sounds. Why Gumi? Her inherent consonant choppiness made for a better drum set than Kaito or Luka.
Q: I think you're lying. I hear cymbals!
A: I discovered that by accident lol. It's really just a string of SHH,SHH,SHH,SHH. Seriously, every sound you hear in this video was made using VOCALOID.
Q: How do video?
A: The waveforms were done in Adobe After Effects. A few other editing things were done in Sony Vegas. Probably could have done it all in AAE but my computer hates running it and this was already taking enough time to finish. I need a RAM upgrade...
Q: Can I use this for an AMV/dance/cover/etc...?

Hi everyone, long time no see! I just wanted anyone who might happen across or revisit this cover know that it might take a bit, but I do read all your lovely comments on all my videos. I apologize for not following through with my previous promises of new content. I've been getting in my own way for years now. This video is almost ten years old and I can't believe it has been so long. I'm seeing the word "nostalgia" pop up in the comments now and feel old lol. Despite my lack of content, my subscribers have stuck around and people still seem to like my work. To anyone reading this, thank you for your support, encouragement, kind words, and well wishes throughout the years. I am so incredibly grateful for those of y'all that have stuck around. For your sake and mine I don't want this channel to completely die. I have a folder full of covers that are 90% done (or more) that if people are still interested I will consider finishing and uploading. Furthermore if there's any suggestions such as streaming, or other content y'all might like to see I'll keep an open mind to it. Thank you guys so much! Vocaloids can reach insane pitches, sing entire songs without drawing breath, sing at ridiculously fast speeds, and are all-around fluent in any language you want.

Probably because I got it from piano sheets lol. I tweaked a few notes here and there though. (Like at 2:57) I wasn't actually going to do that section from the piano version originally because I wanted it to sound more realistic, but then I realized these were vocaloids and I was kidding myself XD

I like this version of Senbonzakura. I can tell who is singing. I see Miku, Luka, Rin, Len, Kaito, Gumi, and two others I don’t know 🤷. But when they sing together, they are great 👍.

Ik this is 8years old and you won't read this but this is genuinely the best song I've ever heard in my whole life. All the hard work, every drop was worth it. Omg this is so incredibly sweet, thank you! Life, self doubts, and a lot of things definitely got in my way, but I'm in a much better place even if I still feel like I have a ways to go.
