One tip with safety pins: if you don't want it to come undone and poke you just take some pliers and pinch the head closed around the sharp tip. Lasts even better through washing.

I love all of these upcycle ideas. My favorite upcycle for myself is dying. I even use dye in my home decor. I wanted some color in my beige bathroom, so I dyed my bathroom rugs eggplant 🍆 and changed the shower curtain to one to coordinate with the beige and eggplant and I am thoroughly satisfied. I also upcycled a bookcase into a small but efficient cabinet by building some door to add to it.

I'm losing weight and need to take up the top of a maxi dress. Your video was so timely because I'm here now pinning the top sides and maybe shoulders. Unfortunately there is a full length lining. can I pin them both at the same time or do I pin the outer portion only, or do both separate?
@BlueprintDIY2 жыл бұрын
The proper way is to do them separately because they need to move independently. I have been known to break the rule and definitely have done them together. 😅 It really depends on the fabric, but I can say by experience that sewing them separately works better most often.
@queentwo12652 жыл бұрын
@@BlueprintDIY Thank you so much. I thought separate was correct but really just wanted to be lazy. I'll search for the proper way to do it.
