​@@ankiking people say this all the time but playing with toys isn't the only kid like thing that should be associated with children. Children can be really into dancing and other sport, maths, literature and etc and like to do them competitively. Though I do think that she should try and maintain a social life.

@@ankiking What does being a little girl really mean? Is it about trying and discovering new things? She can learn a lot through playing chess and also socialize with other kids. She can either do that in school or at a chess academy. Besides, most children her age are too into their iPads to engage in such activities.

They're able to memorize things now that help him them improve and understand the game much faster. Would not happen many years ago, or it was much harder to say the least.

@@S___________D Dad is not a bad player mind you. He is probably around 1500 or so. She gets a lot of support from coaches and clubs but she has an immense talent and desire to win games; this is not something I see from her peers.

Yeah, they both were very cool people. Awesome personalities from very different generations. She's of course just an adorable little girl as well, but her understanding of chess is incredible, and she's very very mature for her age obviously.

He did decent, and more importantly he said he barely plays, and hasn't played a rated game in almost 40 years. He played maybe 1800 or 1900, which I think is reasonable give what we know. If he was in practice and playing rated games then he wouldn't have done so well, but given what we know he did play well.

Also just thinking that ches takes a lot of stamina and that goes. That's why he clearly dropped off a lot in the last game.

i was lucky enough in the early 70's (?) to play a young girl named baraka shabazz (sp) several times at the anchorage, alaska chess club. i beat her a few times and lost a few times. ultimately, she moved back east and became one of the strongest women players of her time. interesting to catch young talent on its way up . . . and realizing that they have moved far beyond you and on to the upper reaches of the game. very exciting to see a talented young player take hold and start to improve. good luck to all our young players.

I agree. I hope she gets away from just playing the girls/women’s league soon. Personally I don’t understand why they still exist. You get better by playing harder players. I believe a lot of the top female players would be much better if they had to play Magnus regularly.

If there were no women at all in the top tournaments, girls wouldn't feel inspired or even welcome to get into chess as they'd feel it's male dominated. And on and on.

i dont think your mind really starts to decline significantly until you're past your early 70s really. i've had near 80 year old philosophy professors reciting and engaging with some of the most dense intellectual material with ease, so even past that age its very possible to keep your mind sharp.

I think they both actually had very unique interesting personalities from two different generations. Enjoyed the video.

A lot of people have slightly higher blitz ratings at all ages these days. People just play so much blitz as opposed to standard.

I don't think he beats her in any time control. He still plays decent, but he's under 2000 now for sure. Not playing anywhere near his old rating obviously, but we knew that wouldn't happen. She's better in all controls I bet is my point.

She is underrated in standard.
