The pointy thing is an awl the compus works only if YOU change directions! If you turn it it will keep pointing in the same way. I suggest you get the sad survival book. It will help.

I would NEVER take an M-Tech knife in a survival situation. They are some of the cheapest, gas station knives you can find. Brothers of bushcraft and Esse make really good kits.

It is missing a plier to take the water container out of the fire after it has boiled the water to sterilize it. It should perhaps have a plier with knife combination instead of only knife.
