1978-1979 I have wonderful memories of my year spent in Hull. Boy, did it snow that winter! Few pennies saved for the gas heater. Old windows that wouldn't close properly. But still, how happy I was ! Hull will stay in my heart forever. Promise.

I absolutely miss the beast from the east. In Dublin we had 20cm of snow and I had one week off school. I was 8 and i still remember absolutely everything.

Admission: as a born and raised Texan of now over 50 years, I have always held a fascination with UK weather. Why? It is unlike anything from my ownnlife experience. I've expressed this with English visitors and they always respond with puzzlement and placate me as if I were a fool.

I know you commented like 6 months ago, but just outside of glasgow i got 30cm + of snow, and I wasn't even in the red warning area which got even more

Kinj In Birmingham we had like 6 -7 inches which is..a lot.

in north east somerset we got about 6-7 inches with 1-2 metre snow drifts

I'm in Wiltshire and we got a crazy amount. Around 6 inches at the worst part of the storm, drifts were 2ft+ in some areas.
