As part of the lift we installed on the 1994 Land Cruiser, we need to take steps to correct the caster angle. This will be done by installing a set of used control arms with caster correction bushings already installed.

I just put a 3" lift and installing the caster correction bushings was the worst part of the job. Its really frustrating but with patience it can be done. Good video. 🤙

Good job! Hope it was the right way in 😁 Question we get is “ Castor correction required for a 2 inch lift?” i guess the answer will always be yes 🙌🏻

So do you just put on the parking brake and not jack the vehicle up? Can you take both radius arms out at the same time that way?

@@thelandcruiserproject cheers, did you jack up the axle slightly to relieve pressure from the bolts? Or did you put the axle or diff on jackstands at all?
@thelandcruiserproject
@thelandcruiserproject 3 жыл бұрын
I didn't need to do any of that. It might help to have a jack handy to make stuff a little bit easier to move around, but there really wasn't much pressure on it.

What degree of caster correction did you install. You replacement springs were just one inch higher than stock, right?
@thelandcruiserproject
@thelandcruiserproject 3 жыл бұрын
The springs gave about 4" of lift (watch the very end of the video). The difference in the height of the spring themselves was about an inch. The caster correction bushings that I put on were about 3° I believe. If I had to do it again, I'd probably go with the Delta Vehicle Systems radius arms and use OE bushings.

Don't know I I speak for a lot of first-time LC owners who are diy's but I would love for someone to explain the difference between having a center differential lock and a triple locked differential. I am thinking that a CDL sends 50% power to the front axle and 50% power to the rear axle. Whereas, a triple locked differential locks the left and right wheels of each axle (the spider gears) with equal power so that they spin in unison. Is that it? Also, i see some guys installing a CDL switch on the dash, i through that all LC's come standard with CDL and to acticate all you have to do is put the truck in 4-low. Why do people need a CDL switch? We could really use a good video explaining these topics. Please let us (your fans) know if you can put together a good video for us. Thanks!

@@jonathangaznabbi7603 .... there’s a fantastic about the basic principals of differentials called “spinning gears” from the 1940s. Start with that. It was explain the fundamentals and the drawbacks and benefits to having a locked differential. Same principle applies for the center, and both axles.

@skhochay
@skhochay Жыл бұрын
@@thelandcruiserproject first you do not need to do anything and use original upto 3' lift you do not need any castor correction , but once you use this chep and hard way by swapping bushings you must do 2 things 1, drill a small hole in the arm control so the water gets in and seized then with the rust to the arm - no joke so thay do not play/spin . 2. because your angle is incorrect and I am 100% sure it is not you need to have a double yoke on front cardan shaft.
