I saw so many cool things at that sale that I would have snapped up. The butter mold, crocks, the trophy, the thread drawers, the green sewing machine, green table, peacock painting, all the wicker covered bottles, and the dress form .

I struggle 😩 to go to estate sales. The sadness that someone passed away and all their belongings going. In saying that, it's nice that someone is able to use or decorate their homes with. This is truly better than items just being thrown out.

And what great 👍🏼 prices on all of the silverware pieces that came home with you, Sarah. 😳😁* *Oh, what glorious crocks WITH LIDS she had, 🙉🤯 even though the lids were chipped❣️🥰 Lids are always the first things to break or chip. Intact crocks with lids in that condition are EXTREMELY difficult to find‼️ As a crock collector and the daughter of Antique Dealers, I would have scooped ALL of them up, paid, and then RUN to my car before they had any time to change their minds and increase their prices, WOOHEEE hahahaha‼️🤣🙉🤣😉*

I totally get the feels ar estate sales. Last summer, I was at a sale and stumbled on a closet they had open with priced furs and choked up. Like that was a woman's prized furs she probably wore to special occasions. I had to hide in the corner and mop up tears. It felt so personal. Such great finds!

Yesterday my daughter and I got to tour the Heritage Square Museum which has some really beautiful and amazing furniture and decor much like the items at that estate sale. I’m sure you’re probably already aware of this but our tour guide mentioned that some items made with a certain green paint, around the late 1800s I believe, may contain a highly arsenic chemical. I had just watched a video that morning where the KZfaqr thrifted some old green books that she learned may contain that chemical. I think her name is Krysta Meeker.🤔. Green is my favorite color so now I’m afraid to touch anything green when I go thrifting/antiquing lol. I hope this comment isn’t coming off as negative because I truly don’t mean to be. I love your videos and style. I figured you heard about that but I thought, what if she hasn’t heard this yet. I must warn her. (Clearly I’m a little paranoid about it now lol😅) On a brighter note, my name is Tara and growing up whenever I told someone my name the first thing they would say is “oh like in Gone With The Wind “. When I go antiquing I always wonder the history behind this item and how happy they were to have them it is sad sometimes going to estate sales knowing the person is no longer here and how would they feel, but you do find things that you would take care of it has if you really new the family. I understand what you mean about feeling sad at an estate sale or bad about reading the diary. Still, you probably saved some of those things from ending up in a landfill. By finding joy in those items, in a way you're preserving the memory of the people who owned them.

That estate sale was HUGE! Was it all from one house?? I felt sad too watching.. but those books and that diary.. can you imagine??... It kills me to do it.. but I rip up my most private journals .. the thought of someone reading my most intimate thoughts just makes me cringe even though I love to read old journals when I come across them.. I actually just thrifted a young girls diary.. she talks about going to Sunday school.. I haven't read all of it.. I think it's from the 40's.. not super old but still...

Old diary are written histories. What treasures they are letting go of.

I go to Estate Sales and a couple that have an Estate Sale Business told me not to feel bad about going through the estate sale items, because everything I buy is extending the life of that item. It gets a new life and story, their words made me feel better. I have found really great pieces and am happy to display these items giving them a new story 😊
