Hey Alex! Working on pronunciation is so important. For me, understanding how to pronounce the verbs was a game changer. My husband was shocked that I didn't know their proper pronunciation when we first started watching DS but I didn't. Now that I know them, it's easier to pronounce any word... albeit slowly. HAHA

@@Alex-Learns-Spanish Hi Alex, I came to get your email to email you but it's missing. I could have sworn you put it on here. KZfaq might be deleting it. This is our email...I'm going to put it in a separate message to see if YT is deleting.

@@GregandLisaLewis-vz6ut alexgalonska(at)gmail(dot)com . That should work. I don't see yours but you will have mine now. I definitely want to talk about the beginning part of speaking. All the other channels gloss over that. And your thoughts on language transfer. I will prepare questions in advance. Thanks!

I’m at 800 hours and charlas hispanas podcast has been good for me to get quality input I just skip the grammar episodes. There’s almost 1200 episodes all around 10 minutes so plenty to keep busy.

thank you. I just checked it out. Its good. I will mention it in the next video. BTW are you starting to speak? How is it going for you?
@Ajas081027 күн бұрын
@@Alex-Learns-Spanish no speaking yet and probably not gonna for a while. I wanna know the language real well before I even try. Although I might try your idea of just getting input from preply for 3 bucks.

@@Ajas0810 Please keep me posted. It is hard to know if I am behind or just speaking this way until I get more speaking practice so it is great to hear from you. thanks

What do you think of starting speaking earlier for those who already have Spanish background I think practicing speaking and pronunciation is critical
@Alex-Learns-SpanishАй бұрын
IMHO you should be able to understand 70-80% of native speaking material before you start speaking. This would mirror how you learned English. If you already understand that level I think you should start speaking. If any sooner I think it is time inefficient and could lead to a strong accent. Speaking is critical in this method it is just a matter of speaking later.

Did you read and write as part of your learning? Did you start that after lots of listening first or did you do both right out of the gate? Or are you purely going for input?
@Alex-Learns-Spanish22 күн бұрын
Entirely listening initially. But I started a little reading at 750 hours. I am supposed to start talking around now but haven't been doing that much.

On Dreaming Spanish did look at videos in a certain accent or did you just watch all regions?

Despues de 800 hours, no puedes hacer un video en español? o, por lo menos, alguna partes de ello para mostrar como hablas? Y porque no???
@francoiscapet873413 күн бұрын
Lo siento por los errores, pero es lo que hay, que yo tambien escuché español por (mas o menos) 800 horas

I have only been speaking for 10 hours. I need about 100 speaking hours before I get into the flow of speaking. I am in no hurry because listening is working and I need more. Right now I speak like a 3 year old when bad and a 4 year old when really in the flow. I won't share that now. But I am recording samples to show in a compilation later. You will have to stay tuned.
