While the 2021 Cadillac Escalade's locked ECU currently prohibits tuning, 2019-2020 model years remain an excellent platform for warranty-guaranteed performance upgrades. This also extends to other full-sized GM SUVs including the Tahoe, Suburban, and Yukon.

To the staff at Hennessey, please crack the ECU of the 2021's. I just ordered a 2021 Denali and was looking forward to having it supercharged by you guys! Or perhaps offer us an alternative solution, like ECU swap in addition to the SC package. Thank you. Love what you guys are doing to SUV's.

They said in the video that GM is locking the ECU for the SUVs in 2021. But not locking the ECU for the 2021 trucks. It's also in the description of the video.

This advanced new electrical system, detailed by GM earlier this year, will allow the automaker’s future products to talk and communicate with each other. It will also enable the various systems on GM’s upcoming electric and autonomous vehicles, so it must be secure and safe against cyberattacks. That means the ECU will be encrypted like the 2019 Corvette ZR1’s, except with an even harder-to-crack code. Chevrolet Mid-Engine Corvette C8 Interior Instrument Panel Spy Shots - April 2019 003 “(the mid engine Corvette C8 ECU) is very, very well done in terms of being able to connect,” Reuss was quoted as saying. “But also to have the capacity and capability for things like Super Cruise, AV and EV. That pipeline that is created with Global B and cybersecurity to be part of that is very, very robust.” Does that mean tuners will have absolutely no access to the Corvette C8’s ECU? Reuss seems to think not, although it doesn’t sound like GM wants just anyone to have the keys to controls. “I don’t wanna cut anybody out from an aftermarket standpoint, but we have to pick and choose who are the good guys,” Reuss said.”

Well, there is a difference between 4WD and AWD. Push button 4WD is not meant to be driven at high speed. AWD can. That clunking in the 4WD launch is not good. Huge difference in the t case. An AWD Escalade can not be put in 2WD. 4WD should never be used like that. Ouch.
