My grandfather actually bought this gun in 1970 when it was brand new. Now, since two years, I own it and it still runs perfect. Also my mags are totally normal! Maybe you have a modified spring in there. Greetings from Germany!

How heavy and bulky do you want it to be? Considering even 3mm of Ti deforms enough under a bullet hit to break the phone, you would need a rather hefty shell - basically a full on *case* made of thicker material. With padding. This is being sold as a bit of extra protection without sacrificing weight and form-factor, which is precisely what it does.

One of my favorite intros, I loved Mr. Rogers as a kid, he was a cool dude. I love your new H&K, it looks really classy. The phone is insane, I can't imagine paying that much even if it is bulletproof and has a really cool box. I whole-heartedly agree about H&K. I use the USP .40 as my duty weapon. Been carrying this one since I graduated the police academy here in California back in 2000. I used to carry a Beretta 96 when I was a Deputy in Colorado back 1992 through 1995. Much more I prefer my H&K. I had an on-duty motorcycle crash back in December 2006. Though my H&K when skittering down the freeway with me after I came off the bike, I only had to replace the butt plate on the magazine that was in the weapon when I crashed. Didn't even knock the sights off. I'm STILL carrying that very gun today. Been super reliable.

@@pinchpeak5203 i didn’t, haha. Dunno if you’ve ever fired a gun (or repaired electronics- i work for the IT department of college I attend lol) but there is no way a phone is gonna survive that. The shock transferred (titanium is a solid, after all) is always gonna travel through the material and destroy the components. you’d need to isolate the components with quite the layer of shock absorbing materials like gel and gaskets; this’d make it about as thicc as one of those old brick-sized “car phones” or briefcase phones lol That said ANY phone is a ripoff for $7K XD

The reset is what happens after you've pulled the trigger and fired. Its the "snap" back to being able to fire on a semi auto. What Matt's saying is that he has to release the trigger a shit ton to fire again, which feels meh

While Ti is indeed stupid-expensive among working metals, it is indeed not *that* expensive. But these things are being sold to paranoid millionaires and billionaires in Russia, many of them. They won't blink at a $7000 price tag for a bit of extra armor in their custom-made Paris suit coat. It would just be a petty-cash expenditure. But, hey - it does what it's supposed to, and will take at least a couple solid pistol caliber hits.

That pistol is a curious, and functional recovery of previous concepts. It is partly like a J. P. Sauer Und Sohn 38(h) with its double action, safety on the slide, concealed hammer, and its cocking and decocking lever. A basic weapon disassembly button like on the old Mauser HSC inside and in front of the trigger guard. Even the roller lock system seen on a handgun on CZ/VZ 52. A cocktail that went very well for HK... ✨🖖😄✨

Well, if I ever had any doubts I needed an HK P9S... this certainly assuaged any ambivalence. Dope pistol. Also, it's worth noting that (I think) you're supposed to do the decock procedure with the safety on. So... I guess it's completely safe that way. That's what I've heard, anyway. Smarphone displays are REALLY thin. I doubt they have the mass to make any real damage. You will probably have a bunch of glass stuck in your skin, but it´s still much better than having lead inside your organs.

Since you were wondering about the text on the side: Without seeing it, I can't be 100%, but I think it goes something like this: "Heckler&Koch GmbH Oberndorf/Neckar" Well Heckler&Koch is obviously the name of the firm. "GmbH" is short for "Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung", literally meaning "Limited Liability Corporation", so it's an LLC Oberndorf/Neckar is a town "Oberndorf am Neckar", the Neckar being a river. The HK VP70M is also very unique, you can put a stock on it wich has a selector lever. That stock allows you to shoot 3 shot bursts, very interesting how it works...

I have 3 P9s pistols and they are great pieces of firearms history. Your 9mm P9s will work with Walther P38 magazines FYI. The decocker lever also acts as a slide release

Bought the gun in .45 in 1976 in Germany. Among the first produced. Still use it occasionally and did carry it for years, so somewhat holster worn. ( (Retired from military in 1995) Has always functioned perfectly. Still does with no such nonsense with the magazine. Still love the gun for its accuracy, ergonomics and ease of shooting.

I thought the gun was more absurd. It's made so you could accidentally shoot it when de-cocking it and accidentally de-cock it while your shooting it. Horrible design lol. I also think it says something about how big our dang phones are getting 🤣. It wasn't that long ago people were trying to make phones as small and slim as possible. Apparently this could potentially save my left butt cheek.

@@Robmancan1987 They still are trying to make phones thinner, just not "smaller". If the glass (even more so in iPhones) was as thick as the older phones were, the glass would probably take a hit from a 9mm or slightly smaller. As for the de-cocker, if anything you'd be more likely to grab the decocker in an emergency than to accidentally fire trying to de-cock it. Even less so with mild to moderate practice. Absolutely no worse than dropping an average open hammered pistol.

The mag for the gun reminds me of my airsoft 1911, the spring would sometimes slip and shoot up causing all or most of my pellets to fly out like that

The H&K P-7 9mm..with its unique squeeze-cocker action, is the real winner of H&K handguns! Matt, you need a P7-M13 9mm pistol..and you can clearly afford one.. "Happy place" as Clint Smith once so memorably said.
