I like that they used the colored ring on the lens to signify which color flare it has. Footage looks really good.

My students have started using the 27mm on their BMPCC4K cameras, and they are loving them. I've got to admit, I am as well. Granted, with that M4T sensor, I don't know if an 80mm is in my future.

Thank you for pointing out the nuances involved with the silver flare - especially how it takes on the characteristics of the light source. I didn't know this!

I feel like the silver flare is the way to go, the other two look way to saturated for all but higher end sensors that can record and discriminate hues in that color range without clipping and looking like a blotchy mess. Great review, looks like a great pairing with Komodo and gimbal. Thanks for the share!

Hey Tyler! Bought this lens because of this video and it just arrived today! So stoked to use it! I wanted to ask, what 4k format are you shooting in? 3840X2160, 4096x2160, or something else? Im new to anamorphic and out of my c70 on super 35 my image looks to be much wider (bigger black bars on the top and bottom) after applying the 67% desqueeze then these test shots. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I was hoping to use this in conjunction with my spherical 18-35mm but the amount I have to crop out of the top and bottom of the image when in 4096x2160 to match this lens seems drastic.

Do u have the new zoom versions of these nanomorph lenses? I wonder if they’re compatible with that super expensive pl mount adapter with the variable nd filter for the red Komodo x camera? 🥴 I’ve seen some people buy pl mounted lenses that wont fit on that pl mount adapter when the variable nd filter is on and that would be a great shame..great footage and review btw !

I do have the zooms but the rear element sticks out too far to work with the nd adapter unfortunately according to laowa
