My favorite Avon fragrance is Timeless. I wore it as an everyday work (Walmart) fragrance for about five years, saving my higher end fragrances for more special occasions. Now every day is a special occasion!😁

Avon had some amazing scents, it’s a shame Timeless isn’t available anymore. I really like this mentality. I also wear almost all of my fragrances on a daily basis.🙂

@@lukeparfums I new to some of the perfume notes. What is a Chypre? Some of those perfumes I like but what is the meaning? Thanks. And is Estee Lauder Beautiful still good I heard it was reformulated?

Classic chypres are perfumes that usually consist of a green top note, floral heart and a base of oakmoss, sometimes patchouli, vetiver. They’re green, woody, earthy, and floral at the same time, making them very classic smelling. Think Cabotine Grès, the first Miss Dior, Estee Lauder Knowing (also Aliage, Azurée, Private Collection…), Chanel 19… Jean Louis Scherrer (1979) falls into this category too. The Scherrer from this video, however, is a different scent. I hope this helps. I don’t own Beautiful but apparently it has been reformulated, sadly.

I love how you review the older gems. I dont really like Avon Gold and never smelled Spellbound. I do own the 'regular' Jean Louis Scherrer and i adore it. I think i'm going to try deux too. Keep up the good work Luke. New sub💖 i'm going to watch your 90's video now ( my absolute favourite perfume era!)

Jean Scherrer 2 is a very strong green fragrance. A little goes a long way!

Hi there. That’s so interesting. I’m surprised you find it green. On me it’s an amber spicy scent. Perhaps you meant the original Jean Louis Scherrer? That one is a green fragrance.🌿

Oh no! It’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea but I happen to like it. It smells more expensive than it is but the strong white florals are definitely polarising. The other two I mentioned even more so. Thank you!😊

Hi, thanks for watching and commenting.😊 SpellBound is even more polarising than Rare Gold I would say. Not a safe blind buy. If you love strong vintage carnation, spicy tuberose and scents like Lancome Trésor or Dior Poison you might well like it. But do test it out first, every good department store or EL counter should stock it.

In 1984 I wore and loved Nocturnes by Caron even though the sales rep. said it was too strong. Do you like it or anything by Caron?

Hi there. I consider Caron one of the finest French perfume houses but their perfumes are really hard to find or sample. You can order them online but they’re too expensive for a blind buy. I sampled Nuit de Noel, Tabac Blond and some others. All stunning scents. Nocturnes sounds wonderful. I wonder if it’s still available. I would love to have a Caron perfume in my collection. Which one would you say is a “must have”?

@@lukeparfums I would say Nocturnes. I've seen it online at F.X. but the bottle is shaped differently. For $79.00. I haven't heard anything bad about it. It has a lot of notes. Loved it.
