I've been in love with him for 45 years, since I was 15. And he is just awkward and adorable, it is o.k. and he could and I'd willingly let him "assault" me anytime!

You're right. He was pretty cool in the 70s. In the 80s, He became a corny douchebag full of himself. His ex-wife may have humbled him a bit, which in my opinion, played a big part in the reunion. Putting on that makeup gave him his ego/balls back. Gene was just beginning to feel comfortable in his own skin without the makeup, until Paul touched his sweet spot(his wallet).

He wanted to have a prenup with Pam, but she cried, he caved, and she showed absolutely no respect to him. She cries about how she gave up her career and independence, but the truth was that she hit the wall due to the team effort of Father Time and Mother Nature when it comes to aging for women.
