My wife and I (I'm in my late 60's) just finished putting together 2 of these in two days and there are a few tricks we learned to help install the panels. On the long bottom corner pieces, I would be on the ladder above the roof channels in an open space adjacent to the section we were installing. My wife would hand me the panel and I would place the entire panel edge on top of the outside (45 degree) bracket and the bottom of the piece was approximately 2-4 inches past the bottom edge where you will eventually secure the panel. You then slide the entire panel into the channel of the straight bracket. The best way to do that was for both of us to gently push the underside of the metal along the edge until it pops into the channel. You then keep pressure on the metal to hold it in the straight channel while slowly sliding the panel down until the outside panel edge barely clears the channel edge and drops slightly. I would then gently pull the panel from underneath while the wife gently pushes the panel. While doing this each of would usually need to gently "pat" the underside of the panel edge to pop it into the channel. Once that was done I would hold the panel in place while my wife would install and secure the bottom bracket with the two screws. One thing to remember is the bottom support brackets overlap which means you have to remove a screw to secure the next bracket so only hand tighten the screws until you have the overlapping lower roof brackets installed. As for the small top panel, the trick here is to install it the opposite way you did the large panel in that you insert the long edge into the outside (45 degree) channel before inserting the panel into the straight side channel. One other thing we found helpful was to start at one corner and work around until only one open center side was left because the center panels are fairly easy to install with me on the ladder pulling the center piece up while the wife is guiding the lower piece up both side channels. After the lower piece is installed under the upper piece I get on a lower rung of the ladder and help guide the pieces up the channel while my wife would gently push the last section in place. Another hint is to don't tighten the lower frame screws until after you fasten all of the 45 degree brackets to the posts and frame. Also don't tighten the screws in the top center piece until after you installed the roof panels.

Can you tell me if it is indeed a true 10 x 12 footprint?
@greggibson46162 жыл бұрын
@@mmeduhaime Hi Andree. Yes it is 10’ x 12’. The legs are 9’ x 11’ but the roof extends appx. 6” beyond the legs. On a different note, we have had several rain storms since we put our gazebos together and there have been no leaks. So far, very happy with our gazebos.

Thank you SO much for these excellent instructions! My husband and I followed what you wrote and we had no problems at all installing every single roof panel! It helped save us some fighting too, which I think we appreciate the most, lol 😃 I highly recommend anyone who is about to build this gazebo to follow the instructions in this comment since the video really doesn't help at all. I do have one question which the video again fails to address - what is the proper way to pull the curtains and netting back? I am so confused why there are 3 parts to the sash to pull them back with. If anyone can let me know the secret, that would be great! We have it working but I don't think we are doing it the right way...

My wife and I are trying to put this together. This is the worst gazebo ever to try to put together. The top triangle peices are kicking our ass. Dude in the video makes it look way easier than it is. Those big panels were awful to get installed

Just finished putting this together & the roof took us FORVER! I gave up & came back 6mths later just to install 2 small pieces. My dad had to actually get on top on tha gazebo

I find there is leaking between the Q and R panels on both sides. They don’t appear to overlap like the other pieces. Its raining today on the first day and it definitely needs some resolve.
@jimwilliamson21203 жыл бұрын
You have to make a single piece from Q and R so the R overlaps Q. When you insert R first and then Q, make sure you have R overlap Q as they enter the roof support beams, then that will eliminate the leaking. I didn't see any specific mention of that but I noticed the flaw when I installed it as well.

I don’t know why they couldn’t make roof pieces just one piece instead of small triangles I wish I would have bought something else that roof was the most miserable thing I ever experienced

Took me 30 min to get 1 piece in, dumb luck I guess. Going on 45 min and can't get second piece in.

Near the end of the video when you are installing the "R-1" and R-2" how did you put in the very last one? There is no opening to work through up top. ??????????
@jasongreenlee69664 жыл бұрын
You HAVE to install from on top of roof, not from underneath. When you get to the last one on each side, I kinda jammed it up there from underneath, moved ladder to outside of gazebo, then finaggled them in reaching from ladder. Make sure they slide all the way up. They will "catch" and allow you to go back under and put the black tabs in underneath to lock them in. Hope you're 6'6" like I am!

I've been doing this sort of thing for 50 yrs. This is about the most frustrating job I've done. No text (I'm a reader) and the video really didn't clarify how the blocks were placed under the roof panels. I'm still leery on the installation of the triangle roof pieces. I'll try it Monday when I get home.

Yeah roof is tricky. Do everything but the roof, take a break, then tackle the roof the next day when you are recharged.

@@Tbone22991 Take the middle Q and R out before inserting the R1 and R2, so that you can see through that gap and then it is easy to assemble those little ones. Try to slide the smaller side first which is at right angle and then push the other side from the end.

This is the worst product I have ever bought from China. The gazebo roof panels needed to be in solid pieces. Not only is it almost impossible to assemble, the extra pieces on the roof will allow extra places to leak.

Things went well according to directions until the final small triangle pieces of the roof installation. You have to stand on a latter with your head and shoulder through. Not possible for a large man. The final piece required us to lower the center parallel pieces and stand in that gap. The roof is a three person job. I have some questions about the durability of the assembly of the small roof pieces since they are held in place only by friction wedges. This is the only "poor" part of the design. As mentioned the plans are minimum diagrams with very little text. I watch this video. It was the best one I found and the only one demonstrating the roof assembly.
