People, thats what those starters are designed for. There is a reason they weigh 58 lb and your car starter weighs 10-15 pounds. Those 855 Cummins were all cold natured especially when they got some hours & miles on em. 3 hot 1000 amp group 31's & spin em till he start!

Idle it up after it starts. I'm sure with all the cranking it had oil pressure. Once its running idle it 900-1100rpm

You should plug it in before you start it. It’s hard on the starter otherwise.

I had to get rid of a truck like this because it was too hard to crank in the cold i literally went thru 3 starter's

You need to go wide open throttle, crank a bit and stop. Give it a short break then repeat. The compression warms the chambers a bit, the starter cools, batteries recover a bit. You won’t burn out the starter that way.
