Mate, apparently you do not stay in Laos long enough to notice one fundamental difference in marriage between Laotian and foreign. When you marry an ethnic Lao lady, you are marrying into her family. Literally you move into the residence of your parents in law, and your children would adopt your spouse's surname. Laotian society very wife focused, in restaurants the bills would be handed to or picked up by wives, and they paid the bills. The bills definitely would not be given to the husbands.
Hello Xiangnan As always, your thoughts are very interesting, in this case about marriage in Laos between foreigners and local women. First I tell you that I was traveling last week and just came back, I went to your videos that I couldn't see during my trip and I reacted to most of them, I hope you can read them. Now, about the video, I think you are telling several truths: 1. Your experience starts from the girls you have met, they are not all Laotian; 2. Each of them has a particular family and cultural background, so their thinking will be very specific; 3. The traditions within the family will surely be influenced by their own experiences, origins, culture, education and economic position. In short, each head is a whole world. Finally, I would like to share with you that although with its nuances, there is a habit throughout the world of traveling to regions of the same country or nearby countries, motivated by the characteristics of beauty or culture of their women, to try to marry them, however it is not it is as manifest as it is perceived in some parts of the world. In Mexico, unless it is for religious reasons, the specific search for a wife continues to be customary only in rural regions or small towns, although I do not deny that it can happen in urban areas. It's always a pleasure to see you, greetings from Mexico.

Hi Miguel ! You're right ! Each head is a whole world! Yeah ,that's what i'm trying to say ! I found that Laos is a culturally complex and diverse country , it's really hard to say that Laotian is balabala(in one word) ... You know there are some kinds of videos that aim at showing some negative artificial stereotype to the people who never been to Laos . In the end , how was your travel ? Xiangnan , Laos .

@@Southward_HappyHouse Hello Xiangnan, thank you for always responding to my messages, it's nice to feel that an effective communication link is established. I was in Mexico City, the country's capital, for a few days for meetings with officials from a federal government office that deals with agriculture issues, since I work for an international organization with offices in Mexico that deals with rural development issues. Then I traveled to some communities in the state of Morelos, near the capital of that region (Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico), where we have some projects to support agricultural producers and I returned last Sunday. A little tired from planes, meetings and hotels, but very happy with my work. I work for an office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) We keep in touch, a hug and fraternal greetings.
