Perrie is strongest vocalist of Little Mix and i think it's safe to say she's one of top10 best vocalists of this generation, Perrie has best and most consistent technique out of all LM members, she also has biggest range and most likely biggest arsenal of skills out of them. It's ok to say she's the best, because it's true and even other girls were always saying that Perrie is the best and that she's up there on level of Beyoncé, Christina, Celine.... Also amazing thing about Little Mix is how vocally skilled are all members, all have enough skills in all registers and techniques, with Little Mix it's not like ''you always do this and i do that'' yes every girl brings something to the table and all of them have their weakness but they're still enough skilled to take each others parts without any problem. Perrie was always belter of the group and head voice user that took upper part of harmony, but she also has solid lower register and decent agility.

There was a huge push for Perrie to take a "lead" spot during and after X Factor, and even the idea that she would be the one to break off and go solo was a huge thing. Mixers react strongly to people saying Perrie is the best vocalist largely because of this, I think. It triggers their fight or flight 😅 She definitely has the most powerful voice, and it's totally okay to have a favorite member. Keep on keeping on.

A large part of Leigh’s vocal progress taking so long was indeed also due to the fact she lacked confidence in herself in the band, and I do believe if she was given more opportunities to show off early on, her voice would’ve been even clearer and more controlled than it is at this rate ❤️

just gotta say, no one really hates jesy for leaving the group. in reality she received a huge amount of support for that decision at first. when she did the collab with Nicki, a lot of people were uncomfortable with the appropriation and disrespect in the video and song lyrics(ie: calling poc “hood, taboo”, etc), along with the fact that she had been tanning darker and darker through the years, using curly wigs, getting lip filler. it was a mess. then to top everything off, came her disrespect to Leigh-Anne. She allowed Nicki to say terrible things about Leigh on an insta live and laughed about it. Mind you, this is someone she said was “the most kind hearted soul ever” “there’s not a bad bone in Leigh-Anne’s body”, all because of fake DMs of Leigh Anne supposedly calling out Jesys appropriation. Which she did to her face, not behind a keyboard. There’s more to the story.

Also in response to “why do you think they give Perrie these [belting] parts?” LM have largely not been in control of their music, outside of lyrics, throughout their career. I don’t doubt Simon’s label would’ve had a clear bias towards Perrie, with many rumours they tried to pull her into solo contracts over the years, and of course the topic of her relationship with Zayn being a whole other barrel of fish 😅 She is absolutely capable of things the others aren’t, but if you listen to an LM album, they have high notes in 99% of their songs, and we don’t need a Perrie high note in every non-single album track and it’s a trend that continued even to the end :(( IN FACT the overabuse of Perrie’s high notes really fucked her voice up around the 3rd and 4th album eras

From what I recall I didn’t see anyone being super disrespectful in the comments ab Perrie, but I’m sorry if they were, that isn’t okay! Please don’t take comments like the ones I’ve left tho, ones that might be a bit longer to offer explanation, as hate. Mixers are simply just sensitive to the language being thrown around when people start to put Perrie up as their fave, because of the way the girls have fought for a literal decade to make it clear there is no lead singer 😅 Of course by saying she’s your fave, you’re not putting her in that position, but back on the X-Factor there WERE comments from judges that Perrie “should” be lead because she was sm better than the others back then and ofc, UK press mostly focussed on her throughout the years as a result. If you guys are comparing Perrie to the world, there are two singers I have recommended in the past that just based of technique only can outsing not only Perrie but every member of Little Mix, and most singers in the world, even singers like Demi Lovato, and Ariana Grande. These singers are Morissette Amon and Faouzia you should check them both out if you like vocals. Morissette Amon is often compared to Mariah Carey, and Faouzia is basically Adele with a way better technique and more range.
