The MOVI phone and Blackview Max 1 also have a 720p laser projector. They look more standard than this rugged phone, but they have specs of a midrange 2019/18 phone. They also seem harder to get.

The projector is rated with 30-40 Lumen (not ansi lumens!). That's damn dark. The projector of a Galaxy Beam has 15 Ansi Lumens which is much brighter. I had both of them. Meanwhile I've sold the Tank 2.

Apple has many other prototypes only for development purposes for future. They always releasing their products to be in ongoing loop that will make the money same Microsoft google and other brands. Hardware if not faulty still can work but they decision to not supporting them will lead to stop software development for certain apps where the app developer is tight to contract where the os producers dictating the rules what will be discontinued and what they still support for certain time. My projector phone (Blackview Max 1) automatically does that after like 30 seconds if you don't interact with the screen. So this one might also do that, and Chigz might have just showed it with screen on for demonstration purposes.

Just get a screen blackout app( if your phone screen is AMOLED any part of the screen that is black the pixels are completely off

I have this one. The screen will auto turn off by your setting, no problem. And by the way, you will never worry about the battery life in tank2.

I can watch YT and Netflix on projector no problem. The picture of projector output is the same as the LCD screen.

Projector mode just mirrors your screen. If it works on the phone it will work on projector mode

You can't get a compatible one as far as T-Mobile and Verizon, as far as I've seen. Many users left reviews and the OEM never replied to those reviews where users are left with an expensive brick that, regardless of how many sim card trays it has, doesn't support a sim from one of the two largest cell carriers in the US.

I was trying to work out which projection technology they were using. In all the reviews I've read they never mentioned Microvision. Where did you find the details? :-)

This seems to be the same laser projector module made by Sony found in the celluon picobit and CL1A, but seems to be detuned to 40 lumen. The celluon is i think 100+ while the CL1A is ~80 lumens. Probably due to legal reasons, the 100+ lumen laser going accidentally in the eyes will cause some damage…..
