I put my homemade bone broth after it's cooled into ice cube trays. When frozen, I put the ice cubes in a gallon freezer bag and use these cubes in soups, sautéing veggies and gravies.

Einkorn pizza crust is delicious. Even my super picky eater said it was worth. Einkorn flour in banana bread is also wonderful, a bit more dense but really tasty

I always make bone broth after I make a roasted chicken. We sometimes have bone in pork and beef but usually just chicken. Sometimes I’ll just make it then freeze it through the summer cause we rarely make soup in the summer and that way I can have plenty for fall and winter. All bread items I typically make at home with 5 or less whole ingredients. I rarely buy store bought. We typically eat the same meals with different things here and there and so that really helps keep the budget down while still trying to get as many Whole Foods I can. I’d say the only thing I religiously buy is mac&cheese. I figure though with all the healthy things we eat having mac&cheese once a week with dinner or with lunch isn’t a issue for us.

Yes, goats are amazing cleaner-uppers. Just take care about milk sickness. I've read people, especially children, can get sick from drinking milk when goats have eaten a moldy or bad plant.

Videos like this are SO helpful! Im trying to swap many things in our home for healthier options and the biggest thing that confuses me is what to buy organic and which items i can still buy non organic. Its confusing because i will see alot of youtubers who buy organic or home grown tomatoes but then notice their canned tomatoe paste for example is not organic. Or organic lemons but not or organic lemon juice. I will notice they buy some organic cheese but not organic sour cream. Its so confusing lol

I think you do what you can within your budget. A good place to start is with the EWG (environmental working group) dirty dozen and clean fifteen lists...you can find them online.

I really love all your videos and I feel really inspired to use more butter and make bread, etc. but I am curious about different perspectives on what constitutes a balanced or a healthy diet. I was a bit overweight for a while late in high school and then sometime in college I stopped drinking milk and then I lost 10 pounds pretty quickly and it could just be that I wasn’t in taking a lot of healthy fats nutrition. Was it something that we talked about at home? Do you think that it was an imbalance of fats to the carbohydrates in the 2% milk?

If I were you I would look into the Westin A Price organization...you will learn about traditional ways of eating and the importance of how your food is produced and knowing where it comes from. Fresh raw milk from a healthy cow that you raise or you know the farmer and his/her practices does not compare to store bought milk produced on a feedlot that is injected with hormones....

She is very active plus 6 children which requires a lot of nutrition and calories on the mother. If you have a desk job and maybe exercise a few times a week, you'd likely gain weight.... if you homestead or aggressively exercise with a high metabolism, you could eat this way. It's a taurine diet when we humans were far more active. You could eat this way and be mildly active but then the return (effort) for return is a lifestyle choice or you could just eat much smaller for portions. I've tried the bone both bandwagon, for me it was a lot of work and not enjoyable. Although i don't have leaky gut and a good health baseline, and cooking for 1 not a large family. The volume of food and time commitment for bone broth not realistic for my schedule and needs. And i don't buy store broth, even if organic so it wasn't a replacement. I rather just make a pot of actual soup, or use water with dishes in place of broth... which is also traditional!! I watch for entertainment because Lisa is a great personality. The few ingredients i tried seemed to have typos or didn't work for me, but I'm actually a very good home cook. I'm sure a lot of people are inspired and make better choices, and vthat's awesome. For me it's a lovely blog/vlog and she's interesting 🙂
