Fun fact: The 2 concaved & 2 domed face buttons was not a thing on the Europe version SNES controllers. We just had 4 domed buttons with the 4 classic colors.

I'm just really glad I was able to subscribe I believe at around the 50k mark if not earlier. Your channel is already the definitive place for the most in-depth controller reviews. You helped me decide on getting the Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller and luckily I have yet to experience any of the QC issues that other people have. Was really considering getting either the Gulikit Kingkong 2 Pro or the 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller to forget about any possibility of getting stick drift in the future, but the direct to Windows wired or wirleless compatibility of the Elite Series 2 was what I was really looking for. Thanks again!

I've been using an 8bitdo pro 2 as my daily driver for a bit now. The SNES was my first console so the nostalgia bait gets me. I play mainly fighting games and a big concerns is always the d-pad. Not just in terms of quality but in terms of replaceability. It's inevitable that a player's going to wear out that pad, and the fact that I can get 2 replacements from 8bitdo for $3 is SO nice. Add in that for games that let you map r3 and l3, like Tekken 7, you can put those buttons on the rear paddles and have meaningful access during play Honestly as soon as they release a Hall Effect version of the pro 2 I'm buying it and never looking back. The only thing I'd maybe buy after is a 10 button fightpad version of the m30 or sn30 from 8bitdo.

I got the v1 like 2018, i use it like 5000 hrs and recently it got the microusb screws but for the price it was much more than I’ve expected, great ergonomics and never get a problems in the thumbsticks, pretty solid for the price

8bitdo has to be the best 3rd party controller maker right now, all their controllers are well priced and well made, and they’re consistent with their quality, they aren’t trying to make the ultimate pro controller with every feature, but features they do add are always good if not great, plus their battery implementation on the pro 2 Bluetooth GamePad is literally as good as it’ll ever be, comes with an easily removable battery pack that can be replaced with AA’s whenever it dies, rechargeable AA’s, not even sure why they make disposable batteries anymore

I will say 8bitdo makes controllers that I really especially the original sn30 pro ones that had the original SNES and super Famicom color schemes. Now for me personally the perfect controller would be if they added analog triggers to the sn30 pro like they did to the Xbox sn30 version. I just love the form factor of the SNES controllers they just feel very comfortable in my hands. Now I will say that over the years the a, b, x, y buttons have started to stick which I was able to fix by cleaning them with isopropyl alcohol and using a bit of grease to avoid them sticking which seems to have worked for now.

I have one of the older editions, (the europeon SNES to be exact) and omg is it one of the best controllers i've ever used, extremely comfortable despite it's size and every button seems perfected to a degree you just don't see on a lot of controllers. i got a SN30 Pro 2 controller and was rather disapointed with the downgraded d-pad but has beeen my primary Switch controller until the Mobapad ChiTu supassed it with an amazing mechanical switch d-pad and rare features like HD rumble and amiibo support

When you tried your input delay test, did you not put it in XInput mode? I have the older model and my input checker thingie works just fine. I get 9ms average.

Love this controller, but the Pro 2 is even better. Not only do you have proper controller handles, but you have the addition of profile swapping, two grip buttons (that are just like the Ultimate Controllers) and even a connection switch button (which lets you switch between Switch, X-Input, D-Input and Mac).

Interesting that you said the thumbsticks were grippy. I bought the SN Pro 2+ (looks like this with handles and 2 back buttons) and those thumbsticks were terrible. Had to buy some PS4 thumbstick covers to make it better. I wonder if they changed the silicone compound? 8bit is fine but 16bit was the best.

@@da_figaro8723 the one with the grips also has back paddles. I think it's just an overall upgrade to this one. There's no way the grips make it less comfortable Imo. I'm looking into getting either one, but used, because the price for new is outrageous. $60 for sn30 pro and $70 for sn30 pro plus is just insane.

I wanted to love the Apex 3 but the hardwired ALPS thumbsticks are a dealbreaker for me. Never buying another pro controller without either hall effect sticks or replaceable modules.

I just bought the snes bluetooth controller and the only button that "worked" was the B button and when i pressed the b button it triggered a Right on the dpad lol.. No other buttons worked at all. Im hoping the next one works...

22:28 you literally just plug the cable to the PC in x-input mode and it will work as an xbox 360 controller, you serious you didn't try that? turn it on by pressing start + X, then plug the cable

Wish they would make one that was for the xbox. I have searched can only find one that is wired, or cloud gaming only. I want one like that for the Xbox with a share button. :( Want it for vampire survivors. I know I could get their usb thing and it might work but still no share button function. I also want that same controller to use on my PC.

Coming from a 2DSXL, the Dpad is underwhelming and shit. Too rubbery, center can be pushed down a bit, and holding Left/Right and going to press up/down has no click--personally for me that's VERY bad for fighting games The 2DSXL dpad is the best possible Dpad and it's unfortunate nobody else can or will take inspiration from it It's not something you can roll your thumb around and get 4 separate clicks out of. And the sound it makes when you do roll your thumb around doesn't sound good. It sounds like the rubber pad is being flipped inside out and makes that flappy, pop-back-into-place/shape sound When it comes to sliding thumb left or right, there will be unwanted inputs for Up/Down This Dpad is stiff. Mushy, but still has a very noticeable click to it. Pressing it feels slow and makes me feel fatigue. The thought of how it felt is making my thumb feel fatigue af right now. My thumb had already gotten so tired from pressing it within the first 2 minutes. I adjusted and my thumb doesn't rly get tired anymore The ABXY are kinda loud, but IDRC. The shoulder buttons are skinny, but not an issue at all. Feels rly good to press them The sticks are very soft. So soft, that they're very slippery. And the position of the left stick makes it difficult to move without needing a break, but that's just me. I've always used normal controllers with a Stick symmetrical to the buttons bcuz common sense ergonomics. But I never bought the controller for stick uses I exclusively focus on JRPGs with it. I recently completed Octopath Traveler (all 88 achievements) with this controller and I couldn't have asked for a better con to play it with. I plan on playing Etrian, SMT, Persona 5 and 3 Reload, Bravely Default 2, Octopath 2, FF Pixel Remasters, etc with this. Maybe even Sanic Superstars and Origins (If that games goes on a big enough sale. I wouldn't pay more than $10 for it), but again, Dpad isn't that good for platforming at all

8-BitDO is utter trash. Like, if it's 9:30 at night, and you have a game event at ten and you can go five minutes down the road and buy an 8-BitDO controller for 80 bucks? Okay. Fine. Even a craptastic PoS beats nothing at all. But mark my words: You *will* end up trashing the shit. Between the random af POWER-OFFs (with a full battery)and that cute thing where the controller *crashes* and *half* of the inputs quit working until you reboot the f!!cking thing.....Like I said: in an EMERGENCY, go ahead and get this controller - but just understand you are literally slow-flushing your money down the toilet.

I bought this model for a generic Retropie console I was building for my buddy. I loved the controller during testing. My one criticism is it was tough to reliably pair it to Bluetooth on the Rasp Pie 4 by itself. Keep in mind I was still very new to setting up an emulation console (tried several different images, most were either batocera or retropie) so some might have been user error. However, once I bought the Bluetooth dongle (ugh...that word), connection was absolutely flawless every time.
