Been in my house 10 years and koved here because of the beautiful views. This will block my beautiful view of the mountains on my street and my dark night sky will be gone which is something i like having as i sit in my backyard. Hope our property values go up even more when this is built so i can sell.

I appreciate the careful consideration of the City Planning Commission before they unanimously voted for approval of the Lone Mt. Temple. The meeting lasted hours, and the Commissioners asked many pointed and well-thought-out questions in their service to the community. I am in full support of the Lone Mt. Temple project. I take my family to the Las Vegas Temple and it is a beautiful and peaceful place where our thoughts are turned to the Lord and heaven. For my family, living just 1 mile from the Lone Mt. Temple site, the new temple would be a welcome and beautiful addition. I feel blessed to have a temple planned so close to my home. Please feel free to visit the grounds of the Las Vegas Temple and to ask a member of our faith about why the temple matters so much to us--it is central to our faith and we would be happy to discuss it further.

You’ll see an increase in Mormons. Temples all over the world help increase the amount of LDS members. You should get in the bus.

Actually we know all about that. But the Masons ceremony is about King Solomon. Our ceremony is about Adam and Eve and how God promised to send Jesus Christ to save them from tge effects of The Fall.

@joshua We follow the intent of Exodus 20: 22-25 22 We know that God can speak to Prophets today. (Amos 3:7) 23 We make no idols of gold or silver. The oxen in our Temples that support the Baptismal Font are below ground in compliance with The Law of Moses. (1st Kings 7: 23-26, Jeremiah 52: 20, 2 Kings 16: 17) 24 Our Altars are compliant with the teachings of Jesus that our sacrifices are not from the flesh of beasts but a sacrifice of our broken hearts and contrite spirits*. This is the sacrifice we offer at the altars of the modern Temples. (Isaiah 61: 1 see * below. ) 25 The altars are preceeded by a single step (singular not plural) or ramps. All persons dress modestly with women in long dresses and men in long pants. I have noted particalar effort gone to with modesty that men will not see up into a woman's dress whenever there are stairs going up. In groups I have seen men in trousers go up first before women. The women go down first. (Leviticus 6: 10; 16:4, Ezekiel 44: 18) *Regarding "broken hearts and contrite spirits" The Book of Mormon teaches:: " _Behold, He (The Messiah) offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a _*_broken heart and a contrite spirit_*_ ; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered_ . (2nd Nephi 2:7)

Of course, it's a tourist attraction. It's also a monument to an Apartheid State, just like ISRAEL, JUST LIKE SOUTH AFRICA was.

As taxpaying citizens of Las Vegas and a devout Catholic I’m totally against a LDS temple in Las Vegas. All Las Vegas citizens should be against any LDS temple being built here . What’s wrong with building it in UTAH

@@carsi7282, interesting. So you honestly believe that any number of 'nomadic' people lived here in the valley? The very word 'nomadic' means they didn't stay in the valley, they passed through. There was no one here to kick out. The Paiute tribe, the Anasazi are among the most prominent tribes in this region. The Anasazi were gone. The Paiutes settled all over this area. They originally had trouble with the Mexican government. This was also a Mexican territory , that ranged from California to Texas. The Mormons built a fort. Most everything that was built here existed along the river that used to run through the valley. Please, stop with your fake outrage over something you clearly have no clue about.
