I thought I'd never be able to afford a 4TB when they were priced around a thousand dollars. Now that I got a 4TB for around $200 I can wait to get 8TB until the price drops around current 4TB prices.

Yeah😂I had the 970evo plus at 256gb and then I got the 1Tb, and I just have a 2tb HDD😂 but I am trying to decide if I should get a better drive for my ps4 or save for a ps5 and some games with gta6 and rdr3 and mafia 4 which can only be on the ps5😅 I got 4tb for my ps4 but I'll probably just wait to get a better ps5 or ps6 or whatever is out by the time those games release😮😅

I just play ps4 games mainly on my ps5 from an 8tb ext hdd. I have a bunch of ps5 games but not into deleting and reinstalling and waiting for downloads. Once the ssd are affordable I look forward to getting one. I feel sony shorted us on storage the os should have been on its own drive. I worry if I delete to frequently it will greatly reduce the life of my console.

Just got a 2TB Samsung 980pro with heat sink for £130. Very happy with it and been very good so far. A lot more games on console and don’t have to delete a game to install a new one for 8hrs if it’s a big file like cod. It doesn’t seem to matter if I play it from ps5 itself or the Samsung heatsink.

I'd wait for the Seagate Fire Cuda to release their own 8TB SSD. I already have their 4 TB and it works amazingly. It's the fastest and that's quality built SSD imo

It uses a Phison controller, just like alot of others...you cannot "feel" a difference. People can't even tell a difference between a M.2 4.0 and a 2.5" SATA SSD.

Is there any specific reason When 4tb show full 4tb but 8tb show 7.65 similar to 825 gig 667 ideally 750+gb but Sony claims 165 gig for OS is too much . Even if they have failsafe No way OS will take so much space.

The reviews on Amazon aren't pushing me to buy this thing. I see a lot of people saying the drive doesn't work, doesnt run at the speed advertised, or only works half the time. I see yours working, so i hope i an update video on how it works months down the line.

Nextorage is a company that supplies m.2 Nvme SSD’s for ps5. This company is based in South Korea and is owned by Sony. They’re ssd ‘s are perfect for the ps5.

There is no CD (Red Book Audio ) Drive in the PlayStation 5. @8:42 is a Blu-Ray Drive that happens to read DVD disc as well. The last PlayStation to support CD Audio was the PlayStation 3. Since the PlayStation 4 streaming music or nothing. No CD Audio drive in that PlayStation 5.

@@nascompares Ironically the Number One Recommended CD Player for people needing a new one is the Sony DVD Player which goes for around 35 bucks is cheaper than a stand alone CD Players new that are around 300 and up..

Forgive this dumb question. Just a dad looking to reduce infighting among teenage boys… but the multiple formatting of the SSD was just so you could get more accurate speed numbers for the video right?

Yes, that. Plus also the area of storage on the drive (known as NAND flash) works at its best when it's 'warm', so doing a cold boot for a single benchmark is never quite as good as going several. Hope that helps man

It will Work and you can also have a 8TB External SSD ( giving you a Maximum of 16TB of storage). Plus Somy said They "Might" up it to 12TB ( for both options) If enough People ask fot it. So be sure to Tweet, Email, and Write them on all Platforms to Make this happen, Folks. Just to point out that the Series X support 16TB SSD/HDD external Drives.

Indeed thou in a few years you can get this Size of Storage for under $300. I remember just getting a USB drive with just 6gb of storage cost over $70. Now you csn get that for $1.

I didn't know we can see SSD's temperature value when it is inside of the PS5 on the PC. CrystalDiskInfo reading that values from S.M.A.R.T I guess? So the SSD always records own temperature 24/7

Just brought the 4tb. Went for the biggest ssd could get. Already half gone installing all games. 12 games. Call of duty games are about 200gb and the new spiderman game is about 150gb. The bigger the ssd inside the ps5 the better off you are. When price of the 8tb decrease will buy. Think in the old Ps5 and new slim Ps5 should at least have 2tb internal ssd installed by sony.

$700 American dollars for an Addlink A95 8TB SSD?!? That is too costly for me even if I am better off with a 2TB SSD for my PS4 Pro as an alternative. I am better off getting a PS5 at 50% off.

QLC is absolutely not a problem for the vast majority of anyone except people that constantly writes to their drives, and even in that case it would be lots of data over and over again. With a PS5 you only write when you download* and unless you have a 10GBe connection you will never get close to the limit on a QLC drive. *When you move data from the internal drive to the M2 you also write, but that is a real rare case.

Exactly that’s why I’m like why do people bother about the large sequential number with a single drive when real gen 3 with that 3500 MB/S would be more than good enough for minority of people when you real would not notice a single deference between that and gen 4 or even gen 5 at that point it’s more of a flex that the had money to burn when you have 2 drive and constantly transfer between them then ok fair enough but 99% of the time people only get 1 drive so not really any point in paying a lot more for speed you’re not gonna notice you know what I’m saying

@AFRO-GAMING-1000 I think the PS5 does have cloud storage, but im not sure how much. With these games getting more intricate. The 4TB SSD will eventually fill up. Spiderman 2 is well over 100GB alone.

@@surronne824PS+ only offers 100gb of cloud storage for PlayStation 4 / PlayStation 5 saved data nothing more Only actual data you will transfer is the installed video game plus updates, saved data and media gallery will remain within the console storage To transfer said installed data you need an external hard drive with enough storage to fit your library from the internal solid state drive you installed within your console, after that install the 8 terabyte solid state drive then simply copy back your entire library into it p.s Remember to increase the duration time within your PlayStation 5 that it can stay idle before entering rest mode Hope that helps

yeah its calld get a 8tb external usb drive transfer all the games on your 4t b over to the external... then take the 4tb ssd out and put the 8tb in... then transfer all the games from the external onto the new 8tb... thats what i did

Yeah I was one of those …”MUST HAVE” clowns that bought one for $1100 for the 4TB during the Pandemic PEAK… unfortunately when they mailed it… I never received it… so they had to send me another one. I guess I should have waited since there’s a 8TB now… just settle for this now and my T7 2TB Samsung

I have news for you 8TB isn’t enough storage to cover all the PS5 games my 8TB for the Xbox one is already full what you really need is a 40 TB SSD or better a 100 TB it was first the memory cards we needed for the PS1 PS2 but at least they were cheaper not costing $100
