远离市区的樟宜，有着辉煌和灰暗的过去。
这里原本是个沼泽地，1927年开始蜕变为英国在远东的军事基地，但英军的营房大炮却抵挡不住日军的入侵。新加坡沦陷后，许多华人在日军的肃清行动中惨死，樟宜海滩沦为杀戮场；英军战俘也在樟宜营房留下屈辱史。
战后英军重返，为樟宜村的小商家店主带来另一番繁荣景象。
Streets of Memory Series 2 Episode 3 - Changi Part 1
Changi, far from downtown, had gone through both the glorious and darkest era.
Originally a swamp, the area was developed into a military base serving the British artillery battalion in the Far East in the 1930s. However, the base was unable to withstand the Japanese invasion, thus leading to its eventual demise. After the fall of Singapore, many local Chinese tragically died in the Japanese military's Sook Ching operation and Changi beach was one of the killing grounds. British prisoners of war also suffered humiliation at their barracks during the Japanese occupation.
After the war, the British returned and brought another round of prosperity to the small businessmen in Changi Village.
