Yep, as an autistic adult, I can say it drives me mad if I do something fun without getting my chores done first.

Like watching this video instead of doing your chores. I do not have autism, I have borderline personality disorder. I’m on the Internet way too much, and all the house work doesn’t get done. Sometimes I tell myself to do my house work for 20to 30 minutes, and then REWARD myself by going on the Internet. I hope you have a nice day. 😊 ❤

Funny, I'm an autistic adult and the need to do chores at all rankles me to no end...but then, I do have the PDA profile and not everyone does.

I’m autistic. I have a trick that works for me that helps me in the process of Planning. I set a vague goal. Than determine a vague list of things to bring about the goal. Than I wing it. I tackle each sub goal individually in small manageable chunks, and before I know it, I’m done. My description my be a bit flawed. It’s mostly just moment to moment reactions in a targeted manner to bring about a desired outcome that only works 43% of the time. Thank you 22 years of strategy games. They taught me so much from economics, logistics, strategy, to planning. Again, I don’t really “plan” I just make random moves in that general direction till I get to the goal. And that generally works.

I was recently diagnosed as adhd inattentive type, but I believe I fall into the the ASD as well I have all of these. I'm not a fan of change and I tend to stick to same foods and things I enjoy. My biggest problem is when I'm upset I get stuck in that until I can break out of that and I say anything to get my viewpoint out. Lately I'm unmasking a llittle as well and I feel depressed. Thanks for the videos you do. New subscriber

Now I finally know why people very often say my spoken accent is from places I’ve never been to. Another personal quirk related to being autistic. I’m convinced we really are from another planet.

I discovered that my neighbor across the street who takes care of her 10 year old grandson has autism. He is nonverbal. Bertha talked about her grandson with great joy when she was saying to me…”he loves me, he just loves me”….and his nurses tell her about how much they love him! I knew very little autism but I have since gone on the Internet and looked up many things. I have borderline personality disorder. But I can see that I do have several of the things that you mentioned in this video. I would venture a guess that 98% of the things that I worry about… Never even happened lol. I’m fascinated by people who have autism, Tourette’s syndrome and other medical conditions. I look forward to catching up on some of your older videos as time goes on. And, I do not hear your American accent at all 😂😂😂……. To me it is 100% British. Have a nice day 😊❤

Im an autistic adult (20 yrs old) and with the food I either have kfc or mcdonalds or mum cooks steak and bacon I also have a strong Australian accent and I am Australian, some have mistaked it for british but yeah. I have difficulties with employment and independent living, im co-dependent on my mum and she has to look after me (whos autistic) and my brother (whos 14 and autistic and hes in special school) I also got social interaction problems and am "picky and selective" when it comes to friends like i want and need people who can relate to me I also dont trust support workers anymore because they keep leaving me so quick, longest one i had was i think 2 yrs but the rest of them only last like a couple weeks to a couple months or so and thats it. I tend to talk 'too much' and 'overshare' I was diagnosed with high functioning autism, adhd, anxiety, depression, bipolar, low self esteem, sensory issues, gross motor skills aka dyspraxia.

6:28 Hi. My 57yr brother (Asperger’s) has been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. Over the years we’ve managed to work through some of his difficulties. This has been our biggest hurdle. Drs being late for appointments, having to wait for bloodwork, having to wait for a nurse to call him are difficult. His future will be so much out of control. Please, how can I best help him??? Any advice will be welcomed. I’ve just found you so I’ve not yet gone over previous videos.

I think i might be autistic. My biggest problem is routine interruption, i get anxous and angry. it goes worse when somethin totaly random happens and changes it even further. Thats when i lose it ,anger rant and crying folows. I realy do not understand why i do that. Apart from that I am sensitive on touch with dry skin, hate someone new in groupe, unable to talk to them.

I'm close to a formal ASD diagnosis thanks to this channel. After watching multiple videos like this one, and relating to nearly all the signs, I decided to go for an assessment. Thing is that it turns out I have Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia. I'm starting to forgive myself and go easier on myself. Before I was frustrated with how I couldn't do anything right and how different I was to everyone else. Recently I started to unmask a little bit because the whole ideal is exhausting.

You know I just had my mind blown by watching a video talking about Dyspraxia, but I never knew what it actually was. I know you didn't mention it in this video, but I had to mention it now. My pediatrician many years ago said I had a fine motor disability, but I didn't realize it was Dyspraxia. I check off so many things related to it. I have fine motor skill problems like tying shoelaces, very uncoordinated, writing is hard after a short time because i hold a pen so hard it indents my skin. I also think I have multiple forms of dysgraphia. My handwriting is illegible, and I can't put my thoughts on paper and I had speech therapy as a child. I can't get the right spacing between letters. Crazy I noticed this earlier today. I also wonder how much having a febrile seizure has to do with any of this at 2.5 years old. My Chiropractor says that it very well could be why I am Autistic. This is some heavy stuff. I hope you had a great New Years and thanks so much for being an advocate for Autistic people. Your videos really helped me, and now my 84 year old mother has started watching your videos to better understand me. Imagine that. After all these years, I have mentioned your videos. 😂. Better late than never.

I rebel against routines but I think I basically hate office hour & school. I've done the same job in 100s if not 1000s of restaurants but thee is some sameness in the process.when the job changed it would take me a while to include it in my proficiency. Often more was added to the tasks but no extra time granted. That would wind me up.

@@gracekim25 he might've taken the self-assessment tests available online, I personally have. Or maybe he meant assessed by someone, IDK. Anyway I understand in general being told "you have this/you probably have that" and being given unsolicited advice, and how grating that can be. I get it, John! I've also been suggested to go on disability bc I have chronic pain but I still want to keep trying and doing stuff before I do that. People sometimes need to back off and just talk to us as equals when we didn't ask for advice (like with any human being)!

@@restorative-wavesno ! two different IQ assessment test to determine if i have autism from state workers in the past. schools and college case workers. VESID was one of them. but i have a few people -- just because of my strong interest - say "you have autism" when i'm around them. it might be more OCD or seriousness in my projects......i could debate too long. i live in a small town and people judge my personality too easily.
