I like Klein 9" Ironworkers pliers D248-9ST -- they have a little hook that makes them easier to squeeze than the straight 9". The jaws on mine are pretty hard, I've cut lots of framing nails with them w/o apparent damage.

I kinda have a love / hate relationship with Klein’s pliers of late ! They seem to take nearly forever for the action to wear in ! As a result , I’ve got more into Knipex over the years . I have a pair of 9” Journeyman’s that are three years or so old , and still aren’t properly worn in !

Have you tried the J2000-59 diagonal cutters? They’ve been sitting in my cart for months but I think their long cutters might address a couple of the problems you mentioned in the video.

My go-to for lopping off mc is the knipex 13 81 8. Electrician 6-in-1 needle nose pliers. They can off mc in one shot clean cut without completely mangling the jacket/wires. Complete game changer. I've cut 6/4 ser aluminum service wire in one go.

@DailyElectrician I got the new forged ones everyone went crazy for last year, I don't think they are as good as the ones I mentioned.

The forged ones are knipex as well or klein?

@DailyElectrician the forged are knipex 13 71 8 They have the threadless screw cutter and multiple wire stripper. The head is a little wider and it has a built in spring, but in order to get a piece of mc into the cutting area you have to open them even further than the spring opens them. It's geared more for stripping wires (why it doesn't open all the way)

Would anyone know the difference between these yellow 9” and the red 9” rebar ones. Which is stronger?

Yellow ones are stronger made for ACSR screw cutting

@@DailyElectrician thats crazy theyre longer so you can use phyics to cut easier the further back you squeeze on em. Think of a mechanic using a pipe on the end of a wrench to break loose a nut or bolt. The further from the fulcrum the less force you need to apply greater pressure. Anyways ive been watching your vids awhile now. Keep at it look forward to em 💪
