Trying to say Watchers was a rip off Predator is pretty silly. Considering the book came out that year as Predator. Not even close in comparison. Pretty spot on with some of the others though.

I agree. I actually loved reading Watchers when I was a kid. I was looking for authors like King, and Koontz was recommended to me over and over. I even thought the movie was decent, considering Koontz adaptations never get a good budget. But, nothing like Predator. Koontz gets ideas taken from him though. The one I always expose folks to is the French movie “High Tension.” It has beat for beat moments taken straight from Intensity, and even some of the scenes are shot just like the TV movie.

Great list! Although I understand there are so _many_ _Predator_ rip-offs out there that you could make an hour long video, _XTRO 3:Watch The Skies_ seriously needed to be in here! I guess they figured the natural progression from ripping off _Aliens_ in _XTRO 2:The Second Encounter_ would be _Predator_ ...with a milk vomiting twig goblin creature. Whatever man, same thing right?

I thought Jiu Jitsu was very funny, and it’s worth a cheap rental. The reason for Jiu Jitsu is given as the alien has been coming to Earth since before any martial arts, and taught early man how to fight so they would eventually be a challenge for him. Cage’s character says that the alien gave man “Jiu Jitsu,” at one point. Now, why they chose Jiu Jitsu is beyond me, because the best fighter/stunt guy in the movie is a Mui Thai guy(Tony Jaa). That’s what I remember anyway.

Ju Jutsu done with a smile and bullets. A slow paced start is right ( for the rest of them too) , until the cheese and blood start to flow. I love them all. I say- grab a couple of beers, fire up the grill shrimp and some steaks on the bbq.

to be fair Rubicon did have a small but fun twist at the end. Ju jitsu doesn't know if its ripping off predator or mortal combat oh and DNA points for effort but the airfix model on a stick helicopter crash and the bad cut between man in suit and manikin blowing up are just sad.

@@johnrayner5849 we'll see, I'm a big fan of old martial arts movies so I've watched a lot of crappy movies just for the martial arts plus I like movies that are so bad they're good. When I heard Nick Cage say something like he's crazy but I'm crazier and then he fights the guy I was like I'm in. The people that made the movie have to be really stupid or made decision on purpose because there's no Jiu-Jitsu in it but they called it jiu-jitsu. It Just seems like some of these decisions were done on purpose to make it campy.

Theres a Filipino version of Predator titled Bangis(Fierce in English) Think of Predator but it uses the ground like a mole instead of cloaking. It's a ripoff for sure, but its fun to watch.

Ehhh idk if i could say "Jiu Jitsu is a Predator Rip off"- yeah they're aliens, yeah they have some cloaking, but at least the action is average quality (which is always better than bad) and I never harp on the acting quality of performers, there's too many variables when it comes down to that stuff. Besides, a lot of alien media has cloaking in some shape or form, so they can get away with the potential "Cloaking suits". Besides, at least their outfits look pretty cool.

Looks like I was right. Some of these definitely are, but others aren't. The term rip off is used too often. The very first movie has nothing to do with predator, other than having aliens fight people. Good video, but would have been better with a different title.
