I have two similar stories. 1. I actually met my angel or I should say an angel after my 1st car accident. She was the most peaceful, kind, loving woman I’d ever met, even more than my mom and that’s saying a lot. She held me until my mom got to the car crash scene. Later after I was released from the hospital, I went to bed for the night (17 y/o). I kept playing the whole thing over and over in my head. I had the car radio on while I was driving, volume turned up loudly (of course as a teen). I kept wracking my brain about what song was it that was playing when my car was struck by the guy driving the beast of a suburban that broadsided me. That night, as I drifted off to sleep, my body jerked awake, wouldn’t u know it, Love Shack was playing in my head. That was the song playing when I was struck. Anyway, I was shaking and felt so unnerved, couldn’t get comfortable and really just needed some comfort from someone. I went into my mom’s room and asked if I could sleep with her. She agreed dt what I’d just been through. We laid there talking, I asked her if after they took me away in the ambulance if she got a chance to talk to the brown haired lady that was holding me when she got there. My mom said, there was no lady with you. You were alone by the pay phone when I got there. I had gotten straight out of my car in a daze thinking my car might blow up. I walked (in traffic) to the party store on the corner of the intersection where I was hit. I used the pay phone to call my mom to tell her I was in an accident, where I was and to come right away. After I hung up, this brunette woman came up to me upset that I was scared and alone. I fell against her chest as she hugged me. She told me that my head was bleeding. She asked someone behind me (that I couldn’t see) for a towel to put on my head. I saw as plain as day the towel be handed to her from over my left shoulder. I figured it came from inside the party store. It was brand new and honest to God the whitest towel I’d ever seen. She held me, while I stood next to the pay phone.*** -side note-*** before I went to the pay phone, I walked into the party store and asked to use their phone to call my mom, told them I’d just been hit- not to mention the car wreck was right in front of the store, they clearly knew I wasn’t lying. The girl behind the counter told me that they don’t allow customers to use their phone and that I’d have to use the pay phone outside of the store. - Just unbelievable, but unbeknownst to me at that time, my head was spewing blood so being in 1989, the girl was probably scared about H*I*V .??? Who knows… I asked her for a quarter to call my mom as I had no money on me. She told me she couldn’t open the register w/o making a sale, she suggested I call collect…. I still chuckle about that…. My instinct would have been to trip over myself trying to help someone bleeding that had just been in a car accident and a 17 y/o girl no less……-Anyway, back to the angel -**** I remember being in that woman’s arms and feeling such a peace, I never wanted to leave her. My mom arrived just before the ambulance, the woman holding me told me, “your mom is here, you need to go to her, she looks worried.” I refused. I absolutely did not want to have her stop holding me. I said, “no, I’m going to stay with you.” She firmly but kindly said, “no you must go to your mom now, she’s crying”. I turned around as she guided me with her hand to do so, saw my mom, walked quickly to her and fell into her arms the same way I had been in the brunette lady’s arms. It felt so cold and uncomfortable being in my mom’s arms compared to that lady’s. Don’t get me wrong, my mom was my world and the kindest, most unconditional Loving woman I have EVER known. I was mama’s girl, always. I simply cannot explain in words how exactly I felt in that brunette woman’s arms. ……. So my mom and I laid in her bed that night and cried, my mom told me it HAD to be an angel because I was all alone standing, facing the brick wall near the pay phone when she got there and walked up to me. Every time I feel doubt about God, heaven, etc, I just go back to that memory of being in Her arms and how incredibly wonderful it felt when she was holding me and how badly I wanted to stay with her. I honestly, could have left my mom (whom I LOVED dearly), my boyfriend, the whole world behind just to stay with her. I sometimes think about how good it felt to be held by Her, imagine how good it’s going to feel when Jesus holds me/us. The thought truly blows my mind.

I remember my husband running his business on pay phones. Driving all around town, looking for a phone, and having to stop and call his customers. @bismarckswalkingstick not to be a pedant, but it's not meant to be taken literally. In the Book of Revelation, Jesus is described as a lamb with 7 eyes and 7 horns. Seven is a Hebraic number of perfection - seven eyes means all seeing. Horns were a symbol of power. Seven horns means all powerful. There's a similar meaning here, although I don't know what all the animal heads stand for. Angels are pure spirits and therefore don't have bodies

He would never see the "thousands of angels in heaven" and he wouldn't see the angel flying overhead to proclaim the gospel. Even ezekiel describes lucifer as "full of wisdom and perfect In beauty." The cherubim example I gave may indeed be metaphorical, but I'm fairly certain angels do have an appearance. God is stated by Jesus to also be a spirit and we know he has an appearance that both daniel and John see.
