Kinda makes me feel sorry for Harvey Dent. Turns his life around, gains Batman's trust and is left pretty much head crime fighter for a year. Then murders take place and because the match his old M.O. he loses everything. Someone who's profession dealt with innocent until proven guilty ultimately has his life ruined again by the ignoring of said concept

Back in the early 1980’s, in X-Men comics, Magneto nearly kills Kitty Pryde. As he stands over her, he sees the silver Star of David around her neck, and, as a Holocaust Survivor, he realized what a monster he had become. It is this moment, when, at that time, he began to reform, which culminates in him leading the X-Men temporarily.

How is Flashpoint Paradox not on this list? Barry literally broke the world without even realizing it.
@gamester5123 жыл бұрын
Maybe so, but once he *did* realize the truth, Barry tried to fix his mistake. That's the key difference. Flash not realizing that there was something wrong doesn't make him the villain, refusing to make some attempt to rectify that would. In Flashpoint, Barry isn't the villain. Yes, he unintentionally causes the problem, but it was never out of any malice or ill will, nor did he ever intentionally harm innocent people, so Flash was still the hero of that story, while it was Reverse Flash as the villain since he actively opposed Flash's attempts to fix his own mistake even if it meant that Thawne would die right along with Barry. But in the case of, say, Hal, he began killing people and even people who were once his *friends* simply for disagreeing with him (sound like anyone in particular from the Injustice universe?). The fact that Hal willingly killed people, including *other heroes* is what made him the villain.

Although they're manga characters they do still count, Androids #17 and #18 from Dragon Ball Z end up acknowledging they were seriously in the wrong after the defeat of Cell, they end up reforming and fight alongside the Z-Fighters, although #17 isn't seen again until Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power arc, a whole *four* arcs and a decade after Cell's defeat. #18 ends up marrying Krillin and having a daughter with him, but she is still a schemer (especially for money) and an extremely skilled fighter. #17 on the other hand becomes a national park ranger, he also ends up getting married and has three children (one conceived by him and his wife, the other two were adopted). Neither of them try to cop out and blame their actions on something like programming, they own up to what they did, they know they butchered thousands of people and nearly killed several of the Z-Fighters, but still atone for what they did.
@Doctor_Odin Жыл бұрын
Well androids (cyborgs) 17 & 18 did accomplish their compulsory programming through Cell, and their future timeline counterparts actions are a result of an error within their compulsory programming due to Goku dying of the heart virus and their overall human brains having to compensate for the missing target Objective. Their current personalities are essentially based on their original selves after completing the objective. Which means Lapis (#17)was likely the muscle behind their delinquency antics while Lazui (#18) was likely The schemer behind them. It’s essentially the same thing after Picolo Jr. completed his compulsion from Piccolo Sr. at the end of the Raditz fight. He no longer was his father‘s proxy & became Namekian a child in an adult body with access to genetic memories. Piccolo Jr. is only three years older than Gohan & with the namekians relationship with the son he’s basically Gohan’s insightful delinquent older brother by unofficial adoption.

Lex Luthor in All Star Superman, when he finally understands how Supes sees the world; and Homelander in The Boys, when he realises that all of his murderous antics were started because of ... well, I'm not going into spoilers. Even Woodrue in Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run would fit the format. The channel is great, though it might be nice if we could see some non DC and Marvel stuff. I understand that they are the biggest hitters in the comic world, and draw in a huge part of your viewership, but as a fan of alternative publishers, it's a shame not to see them in your lists.

Other modern takes that give characters unique moral compasses; Luthor, Maxwell Lord, and Cheetah. LL: permeating belief in the manipulative element of all human nature. Fact of life, he figures. He thinks all altruism is a front for everyone's self-interest, I guess, and he's genuinely trying to maneuver humanity to the outcome that's best for all. Sees Superman and believes the heroism masks a hidden agenda. Max: came by mind control powers, but harbors a fanatical self-hatred founded on the idea that all metahumans are bad. Chooses to martyr himself for his cause. Barbara Minerva: her old friend Diana holds onto hope that Barb can be freed from the corruptive totem that gives her her Cheetah powers. The more that comes to light, though, the more it seems the Totem is meant for one tribe's protection and bad seed Minerva's the one who perverted its purpose.

I’d honestly say Tony or Cap in Civil War(but I stand by Tony no matter what) but I’d say Tony for the things he did he tried to start a war between the Surface Dwellers and Atlantis on top of a few other decisions and Steve because he didn’t even really give the act that much thought he kinda just said I’m Captain America and I don’t approve of this message 👍🏾 and it finally hit him after he witnessed the destruction that the heroes made while fighting
@goldenstatewarriors94183 жыл бұрын
Bruh that was stupid. While its a great moment, I hate it because Captain America is absolutely not the villain of Civil War. For the first two issues, I'm kinda torn. After that, Stark and Reed Richards are undoubtedly he villains. Civil War shouldn't have had a "villain" and I don't think they intended to write Iron man like that, but Mark Millar ended up doing so. Cap does the right thing by stopping the fight because of all the damage it was causing, but he was still the one in the right. I'm sorry but I find it hard to get behind anyone that creates a Thor clone to attack their friends which kills Goliath, and that locks up heroes in the negative zone. I was almost glad hat Norman Osborn usurped Iron Man from his position and Director of SHIELD, which he got as a "reward" that he didn't deserve for his actions in Civil War.
