I have a toy box designated for my beagle puppies toys to go into at the end of the night. It's an open toy box so he can grab one when ever he likes. One evening I put all his toys away and went to use the bath room. The adorable little twerp got every single one of his toys out and spread them around the living room again! It made me laugh so hard when I came out cuz he looks so pleased with himself and got excited when I came back. This was at midnight mind you! He loves all his toys though, and I couldnt be mad at him!

When training my Beagle pup, I found these little liver pellet treats. They were perfect for training because my Beagle loved them, and they were really small, so I didn't have to stress as much about giving him too much. Used them for all the training including on walks.

I got my beagle 5 months back when he was of 2 months. Earlier i had a labrador who was a big ball of pure love. He loved to please and followed me everywhere but he slept in his own space in his bed at night. After losing my lab of jaundice i got so heartbroken I would cry for hours everyday as he was my baby and nothing could fill the void. The day i got my beagle i realized getting a new dog doesn't replace your old dog but expands your heart with as much love for the new baby. The first day i got him he kept crying the moment i kept him down in his bed. He would cuddle inside my sweater. Half of the night i slept in his dog bed holding him. 😆 The other half I went back to my bed with him in my arms... Following nights I'd say only one more night on my bed. Now he is 7 months. He plays in his bed but when it's time to sleep... he sleeps on my bed cuddled.. He is so similar yet so different than my lab... both very high energy, smart and playful and extremely naughty 😆... but my beagle is extra energetic...n stubborn... n very very smart! These babies fill my heart with so much love. 💓

Lost my pug to jaundice too 2 weeks before .. its been so hard and seems so unfair he was only 5 yrs old but we did our best to save him .. now i m getting a beagle (2months old) very excited ❤

Thanks for pointing out the reasons for a harness. Beagles are particularly susceptible to neck and back problems and this one thing could make your beagle live longer and happier.

Only problem with a harness is you don't have a lot of control and mine is a scavenger

@@nolavout9094 well, I don't know your baby, and Lord knows they ALL have a huge amount of ingenuity to get around our restrictions, but perhaps you could find someone who is good at teaching how to curtail his objections. I know though having something around his neck is not the solution and it will create neck and spine problems later on as well as choking issues currently. Best of luck to you.

thank you so much i have a 1 year old beagle and she stopped eating the treats and food we gave her before now i know that the food and treats were poor/bad quality and she did not like the taste but one thing can you make a video on how to train beagles to get into and stay in crate?

Starting to look up videos on beagles, I am retiring this year and want to train him to rabbit hunt. Maybe even 2 but I have not thoroughly thought that one through yet. I’m sure our cat might have a say in that decision.

Using clickers are ok for some but I would recommend using your Voice because it is something you always have with you, sometimes it’s not easy keeping a clicker by your side 24/7

Toys don’t work, but tearing apart boxes. As far as bones and hooves mine hides outside them instead of chewing on them to give me a break. Very cute but there’s no rest for me!

I personally love beagles but i don’t have one, so i decided to ask my brother if he knew someone who had a beagle i could borrow and turns out he had a friend who didn’t take good care of his dog (3 years old) and didn’t brush his teeth and stuff. So i decided to borrow it for 6 months and i got attached and turns out the owner of the beagle (my brothers friend) didn’t even want the dog so i got to keep him 😊

Guess my Beagle is not normal. She never ate more than her portion (if i gave her more), even she rejected some of human foods (like a peanut butter toast) when she's not hungry lately. Or maybe she's only entering her puberty age so she's not too interesting with food? 😅

I have a beagle 2 months old. She eats a lot. She has to be given 1 whole bowl of food or else she will keep barking. Her stomach gets very big her diet is pedigree in the morning rice and chicken stew for lunch and pedigree at dinner. She wakes in the middle of the night say 3 3:30. Do you have any solution for that?

Our beagle and my daughter's beagle both love 'nesting' beds with soft - but strong - material to snuggle in. Most manufacturers give suggested dimensions for your dog's size. Beagles often chew, dig or even suck their beds, so repairs or replacement are almost certainly needed. We also have a larger flat 'day' bed with a thick memory foam and strong cotton cover. Our spoiled beagle gets a choice and will move between spots during the day.

too bad that in my town i can't get a really tough toy for my little destroyer. he can rip some of the toys in the first minutes of playing. ropes and rubber balls are the best as far as i know. and i have to buy all treats for the big dogs because for the medium can't stand my beagle's jaws. as long-term treats i use huge rawhide bones and plain hooves (without a bone inside because he really likes to start from the bone itself, not the "shell"), for the trainings i use pieces of apples, cucumbers and some berries or some small special treats. hope i can help someone

@@SalivaArt delivery is quite expensive and tough toys cost like three or even four different ropes which i can buy in my local store. Once i bought tough toy (not "Kong") and he destroyed it in just two days. Sellers at the pet shop were shocked when i show them what's left from toy i bought

Sounds normal but quirky puppy stuff. Not aggressive if not attacking people or animals. Beagles in my experience particularly LOVE biting, chewing, destroying stinky clothes 😳. Their noses 'made them do it' 😂 Good reason to put clothes away or in a laundry hamper, but it's tough when you're in the shower & the nose barges in followed by the rest of the beagle & together they grab a plaything from the clothes you've just taken off 😲 Lessons in self control and non-attachment, and incentive to refresh the positive trust training.

Why? What are your reasons? There are many training processes that are enjoyable and helpful for both people and their beagles. It's all about relationship: balance, respect and trust. I've seen that Play Dead trick used as an amusement for humans, which is not a good reason. I've also seen it used for vet visit training, which is a good reason, but is there a better way? The Play Dead term & trick came from tricks to 'amuse' people and involves pretending to shoot. It's a disturbing gesture towards a loved companion in this era of shootings.

Get your dog to a vet pronto! Think of Parvo like COVID-19: with all the urgency & preventive behaviours needed. It's highly contagious & is a very serious disease! Vaccinations are to prevent it; but now the dog has it, the vet will have to treat the symptoms to give your dog a chance to fight off & heal from the virus. It's worth the money to reduce your companion's suffering. All the best to you and your dog.

My beloved Molly NEVER LET A SINGLE CRUMBLE OF FOOD IN THE BOWL, WHATEVER quantity of food in the bowl. If that happened, I was sure Molly was quite ill and iI carried IMMEDIATELY TO THE VET.

Make sure your pup is getting lots of exercise in the day, you need to provide mental stimulation which will tire him out. Make sure also that he doesn’t take a nap too close to bedtime! My beagle puppy is 17 weeks old now 🥰💖 good luck !
