Never just swim over to a drowning person if they are still concious! They will try to grab you in panic and drag you down with them! If they are still concious and in panic, hand them a float, or give them something like a rope they can grab and drag them out. If you don't have anything then wait for them to fall unconcious so you can safely drag them out. I know it sounds cruel but it's better than risking yours and the drowning person's death.

These tips make me a better human and Less struggling for me when I'm in danger because I know what to do.

Actually when your car is sinking you can take the head rest out, shove it in one of the lower corners of the window and push it down. The pressure will be enough to break the window and it is safer than breaking it with your hands.

In the other case of you were the one drowning, stay calm it can save your life. You need to relax focus and try to float on your back preferably or any other floats you know. When on your back make sure you push your stomach up or it will not work. Then when safely floating attention is what you need. Yell, get people to know you are in distress and they can help you properly. But for both situations just stay calm, and stay safe

I was caught in a rip it off south coast of Australia when I was a kid within less then a minute we were sucked so far out the swimming back was impossible, we eventually were able to swim under the current as the water got deeper, however we were extremely lucky that boat was able to pick us up, if I known what I know now or saw this video this may have been less dramatic (over 10 years later I still struggle to enter the water), my point is this video is extremely helpfull and coming from someone who has experienced one of these I just wanna say thank you no one should died, from anything, and if just one person remembers this video when in one of these instances then u deserve a medal. For the drowning one, when I was 6 my mom decided that sunshine would help me when I was sick. I didn't know how to swim too well back then and my legs were pretty weak. My baby cousin, Charlie, came with us to the beach and he was playing in the water when a wave crashed over his head and he didn't come back up. (Keep in mind he was 4) Without hesitating, I ran into he water, dove in, grabbed Charlie, screamed for my dad, and held his head above the water and waited for someone to help us.

I just want to point out that if the elevator is falling too fast then you cannot even lie down. You will simply levitate

Actually, the mythbusters have proven that in a sinking car, you should try to open the door and get out as quickly as possible, as soon as it hits the water, since it will probably open. If you wait for the car to fill up, you'll only be able to open the door when the inside and outside water pressures are equal, which only happens when you stop sinking. That may not be an option if you drive off a dam, say.. or a bridge. Just swim away from it quickly so the low pressure doesn't drag you down with it while it's sinking.
