😭😭 I'm so sorry that this happened to this young man and i feel so emotionally damaged detrimentally for the family. Please lord I ask that you give this family the strength to cope with this loss even though they'll never forget that this happened/ the process will be difficult. May God bless this family with not only serenity but protect/deliver them from all evil

It's because a lot of people in NY view their fire escapes as an outdoor space almost like a balcony and some families use them as such even when it's sometimes unsafe to do so.

It just goes to show that babies and toddlers aren't the only ones that need supervision with windows. Older children as well. A nine year old can easily open the fire escape window. It's best for the parents to have that bedroom and keep it locked. Especially, if the child has special needs.

Every year at the beginning of summer there are kids following from windows , fire escape and kids left in hot cars “by accident “

Maybe the kid was kidnap & he was trying to escape his kidnapper's? How can nobody know anything about the kid?

The police know they just have not informed the media. The media does not always immediately get info regarding a death, etc if the police are still investigating. The kid could have been at a babysitter's house and in that case the parents or guardians would have to be notified before info is released to the public.
