When 9-year-old Kaylee Tolleson started having stomach pains last year, doctors initially thought it was constipation. But an ultrasound later revealed a softball-sized tumor in her abdomen and she was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. After missing part of her third-grade school year to undergo surgery and chemotherapy, Kaylee is now cancer-free! See how this brave girl who touched hearts across the country is now on a mission to help others battling the disease.

Yes they do need to listen more but I think a lot of people who have pain they probably do just have constipation so if a doctor doesn’t listen they probably think it’s that first. 😢 But still if she kept coming back they definitely should have done an ultrasound sooner. I used to get pain there every morning. It took awhile but it went away after help. But my doctor referred me to get a scan to make sure it wasn’t something bad.

@@gaylemartin6995 But if drs listen to all patients their own diagnosis then half of the world would have a cancer. Now with the internet people love to diagnose by google like they dont need drs, im not surprised drs get mad about it. The wrong thing is that drs dont consider cancer when they have a young patient, they think: not possible cancer in such a young age/you are too young to have X sickness - this is the biggest problem. There is no age for cancer, is not sickness that touch old ppl.

You are right. Drs need to start rethinking their approach. They operate on the idea "think horses not zebras". They need to start thinking a possiblity of zebras from the first min that they meet the patient. Insurance plays an overwhelming and disgraceful role in this also. Too many times they deny or restrict access to care. Doing nothing more than stepping over dollars to pick up dimes.

Almost all cervical cancers are caused by HPV. Please get your teenagers the HPV vaccine. Some people arent genetically able to fight off HPV. It runs in families. If your body can't fight off this virus, it will cause cervical cancer. It can also cause mouth, throat and cancer of the "backside." HPV is extremely common virus. Most people get exposed in their lives. It is an STD. Many can fight off the virus, but if your body can't, it is very dangerous.
