Nice! My 2005 Ram 2500 is a 5.9 HO 4x4 QC SB with 6 speed NV5600. Got 123K on her now after 16 years of ownership. Solar Yellow mint condition all original. Has had a pampered life. Really had nothing to fix on it until I did the front brakes and rotors, ball joints, wheel bearings, front axel ujoints and both front and rear driveshafts ujoints a couple years ago at 95K. Run Balwin 7977 5 micron fuel filter since I got it almost new, no mods on motor and all original. Just put on Synergy steering upgrades and track bar with new pitman arm, wow way better steering and no wandering! Highly recommend. I've had corrosion on the cable grounds before too, have to clean those every few years or so. I hope my truck lasts as long as yours and hope I last long enough to drive it that far!!

Besides not replacing injectors or having transmission work done, I am most surprised with the center console having no cracks! For a sub $150 mod, pick up a new seat cushion. It was a night and day difference in my 04.5 with around 300k miles on it.

Thanks for the update….i have the same truck and just noticed the grinding in the wheel bearing…. I assume If I take spin the wheels I’ll be able to tell which side is bad….. again thanks for the updates!!

Your truck is travelling significantly faster at 1700 RPM than my 04 Ram. Mine is at 62 MPH. Curious what size tires are you running? I'm running stock 265/70 17s.

Mine are 285/70 17s. The speedometer is also calibrated for the larger size. Also have 3.73 gearing which will rev lower than if you have 4.10. And if you have a manual trans it will rev higher versus the auto.

@@OutpostCTD I have an automatic and 3.73 rear but I'm running OEM tires. I'm looking to go a bit larger in an AT tire next time. I'm not towing heavy delivering RVs anymore so I can afford to trade some pulling power for lower RPM at highway speed.

Hey off topic question from this video, but I saw a video of you replacing that heater core metal line that goes down under the exhaust manifold. How hard was it to get off and put back on? Also any other tips or tricks. Thanks!

That was a brutal job. Best tips I have for this is remove the wheel well liner for better access and push off the little rubber elbows with a flat head screwdriver. The elbows and metal line can come out in one piece and then you can transfer the elbows to the new metal line once it’s all out. It takes some wiggling to get the line out past the manifold and the new line in but it can be done without loosening the manifold.

Do you use any additives for your fuel or oil?

I run fuel additives intermittently. I’ve used Schaeffers and stanadyne the most. For oil I haven’t used any additives.

Seems to all boil down to doing maintenance and this guy does it! as a Chevy guy I agree from what I've seen with Duramax's they tend be higher maintenance. The gassers will run forever though with minimal maintenance. It appears Chevy appears to have better paint though. And I've never been impressed with dodge or Ford's interior.
