Full throttle with the engine off key on will give you close to 5v and chab is right with the analog is better for finding flat spots in the voltage increase, Good input =Þ

Hey great video. Thanks for posting it. This procedure should be simmilat for a 93 F-150. I wached vid on how to retrive the check engine codes, and one of them was a code 33 which is Throttel positioning sensor niosy/harsh on line. What ever that means. So I figure I bettter check it. If you have the time and the knowhow maybe you could do vedeos of some of the other sensors. Yorr camera was close enough so you cold get a good view of what was going on and you explained it well.

If your talking about the tps sensor then yes but you want to have a nice consistant rise in voltage as you increase throttle it you hit spots that the voltage jumps out of sequence the sensor has flat spots in it's voltage out put and prob need to be replaced

first check was 4.9v second was exactly 1v. After opening throttle tops out at 4.4v this 94 ranger will stsll while idiling after a few minutes. started up with tps disconnected and it idles better and does not stall. I've check for vac leaks, cleaned maf twice, and iac is new. i suppose its safe to say tps is bad.

My truck has trouble accelerating and has small misfires about every 2 seconds.. Voltage when giving gas was around 1 volt... im assuming this means a bad sensor? The wires leading to the sensor were around 5 volts with ignition on and engine off.

How far should you need to throttle the gas to reach a little less then 5V

So mine is reading 4.31 but when I accelerate drops down when I increase throttle does that mean its bad?
@israelrazo61176 жыл бұрын
What if it is more then 1 V idle? Mine reads 1.18V is that bad?
@dabassmechanic12 жыл бұрын
yeah I think it a voltage code error sometimes tapping the sensor will temp fix it, is your idle rough or sluggish accelerating ? And it can whine but guess I should ask what your symptoms are

At idle I have 0.72v. At WOT I have 3.67v. Bad TPS?
@getenlightened4 жыл бұрын
My voltage at full throttle was only 3.3v - wondering also if this means it is bad.

I removed mine put it back on, and now she idles rough and shake

I have over 5.1 volts and idle 4.48 my sensor is bad ?
@dabassmechanic2 жыл бұрын
When you start getting out of range it's the beginning of the end for most sensors with the price it's a cheap quick replace. Wish ya the best of luck
