I last sailed the Atlantic in 17days on a 46ft yacht. Loved it. I can't begin to imagine how uncomfortable, punishing and scary it would be to do it in a yacht of this size. No amount of money would lure me onto it. Madness.

Just staying in that vessel for a week on dry land would be a huge accomplishment if you ask me, living in it for a quarter of a year whilst crossing the Atlantic ocean is just utter and pure madness... I love it! Hope he succeeds, wish him al the best and save travels!

Can I suggest adding hand-grips (like bicycle handlebars) to assist with locking your body in place? Forcing your arms outwards with nothing to hold onto will get very tiring very quickly (it's an odd group of muscles you'd be using). I'd recommend some setup which allows you to put your hands in a couple (or more) different positions, to spread the stress around to different muscle groups. Nothing worse than being locked into one position for too long (I was a long-distance cyclist in my youth, and now a long-distance motorcyclist). even moving your grip from 'vertical' - thumbs at the top - to 'horizontal' - thumbs pointing at each other - can make a huge difference in comfort and (importantly) stamina....

I've sailed the North Atlantic for years while in the Navy. The punishment taken by the ship was unbelievable, making this venture borderline crazy. Godspeed.

I love the twin torpedo tubes on the sides. However, if I was doing this I would make the boat one meter long but at least 5 meters wide. That way you can smash the record in comfort.

I would trim the bolts near your knees and put smooth cap nuts on the treads to avoid scrapes and tears of gear as the snag on those bolts...you may not see them sitting i the boat but in the video they look ominus!

1 thing id add is some sort of shade or cover for that bubble window as it will get crazy heat with just a little sun comming through ...it will be like a magnafine glass ... for times if you need an hours sleep in the day when at anchor ... it will make huge difference

I think that it’s going to be a test of endurance in those confined quarters. I wonder about insulation, heating and cooling on the trip. I wish him all of the best.

90 days on that thing is going to be pretty intense. Not counting that you have to pray for other boats not going over you as you can't do litterally anything to avoid them.

Pad that harness so you don't get raw chafing in rough weather.

Andrew if you read these comments, might be worth taking something akin to a perforated sheet that affixes onto the dome - if you get a problem with the vents or want a breeze to keep cool, you can have ventilation about the place without getting blasted/awash. Make sure to have an alternative locking system for the front of the hatch for when it gets knocked by a wave. I'm sure you've already thought of it. Good luck!

Insane, I can already feel the cramps. I’d imagine cleaning yourself would be extremely difficult. When the journey is done this boat might be declared biohazard. I’ve always thought a jetski crossing would be adventurous though

Sitting 90+plus days is a very dangerous route due the high risk of thrombosis and in general unhealthy blood flow. This is definitely not worthy in a "risk to reward" ratio and any common sense.

I went in it at the boat show......nice guy strong craft, but he needs to start his food diet much sooner it takes months & months to get your body prepared for this stretching and blood flow is critical. The boat will do it with no problems.

To keep mentally and physically active I would not cut the internal bolts shorter and I would spend the time grinding them down with a baby sea turtle shell

I sail solo on my 60ft first generation Open 60. It's funny to think we could fit almost 20 Big C's onto my deck! Lovely guy and a thorough, professional approach to what will be quite a challenge in the North Atlantic, even in that time of year. He'll be hit by at least two nasty lows. So when the Atlantic decides to have one of her morning episodes which pending on her mood can last days- this Englishman joyfully decides to manually strap himself into a fibreglass straight jacket to be jolted around like his seated a top an angry Bull whose just been branded. You're one of the most positive Englishman I've come across. A for admiring this challenge.

Hannes Lindemann crossed the Atlantic in a Klepper kayak. You could pick that up and carry it. I'd argue that that was a much smaller boat. Boats are three dimensional.

Amazing, how did they get a bedroom, a galley, a toilet, a shower, and crew quarters in there ? !!!

Sailing across the ocean in a buoy? I wounder how many degrees of course choice this little bobber has. It has a theoretical top speed of 2.43 knots (2.79 mph). I hope he makes it. And I hope this is the last word for smallest (shortest) boat to cross an ocean. In my opinion, this has long past the point of ridiculousness.
