They’ve always had good exhaust note along with great low end torque

Nice to see one in Europe! You are lucky. They are very rare even in the USA.

What a beautiful car. One of my all time favourties. Especially the SSEi.

Very nice car. Its amazing the amount to technology that was implemented in these 1980's GM vehicles.

I've got an 89 white ext/saddle interior SSE. I had it repainted last year. I'm the original owner. It has about 300,000 miles on her. I have always replaced or rebuilt (if parts can't be found) components on her as needed. She enjoys semi retirement in my garage. I love this car and never get tired of her. Thanks for sharing your SSE with us!

mickyunit Sounds great! I had to sell the Car, but I miss it. It was such a nice car. If I had a house I would have kept her. When you bought the car, was it considered to be an exclusive Car?
@mickyunit7 жыл бұрын
BK-CarsandStuff I bought the car in West Texas, it was not something you saw very often, so yes, I think it was considered exclusive. One of my co-workers used to drive one and he occasionally asks me if I'm ready to sell him my car. I tell him no, not selling her. The body is in great shape, but sadly the Texas sun has taken its toll on my beautiful leather seats. It will cost me $2500-3000 to reupholster her. So I think I'll just buy nice, custom seat covers from cover craft until I decide what to do with the leather.

I had two - a white/cream 88 ( I took over the tail end of my employees lease) and a burgundy 91. I loved those colors with the camel interior! Really nice. I got stranded once when my alternator went, but otherwise, they were both rock sold and drove well. That GM 3.6 L V6 was tried n true. And once, I drove over a broken brake Disc in the road and blew up my tire (that was weird...)I loved the way they looked and drove - even though it was all plastic aero junk and really the same as the lesser Bonneville SE... very reliable. I had a car phone with light up buttons and that whole interior looked killer at night with all the displays and the steering wheel buttons lit up... I kinda miss them. By the day’s standards, the power was good. Even by today’s standards, it can still move. I would much rather have to deal with a 27 year old Pontiac vs. a 27 year old BMW or AUDI. I’m sure you could keep a old SSE running for waaaaaay less than most European cars...

@Black Buick Damn. That's sad she totaled it. I just got my car out of the shop. Had the coolant flushed, checked spark plugs and fuel injectors. Creeping up on 300k miles.

I tried so hard to buy one of these back in the day, I couldn’t, I was broke with no credit lol, so I end up with a 86 740 GLE I liked so much. Thanks for sharing

Nice review! I have a 1991 Bonneville SSE that has been in my family since close to new and I still own it to this day. My car is white with the gold Pontiac wheels and saddle tan leather int. Its has been a great car overall and still fun to drive. A great road trip car and has a ton of options that most new cars are just now getting! I will try and get a video up soon of my car. I remember the days when these Bonneville SSE's were hot cars and high in demand. Now I barely see any of the newer 92-05 bonneville SSE or GXp out there. Nice car and really like the dark blue and tan leather int.!!

Nice story, I agree completly. I was lucky finding one of these in my country.

BK-CarsandStuff Yes same here. I also have 2 other Bonneville SSE's one black in color and the other grey in color that I will be selling soon as a restoration project and parts car included. I originally bought them to restore myself to have with my 91 but I have no time to do it as I already have too many cars. I would like to sell it to a Pontiac enthusiast as they are one of Pontiac's best models. I may try Ebay and see if I'm successful at that.

+AMCNorthstar 93 Great, the black models looks really nice. How much are the cars worth where you live?
@starxlr78638 жыл бұрын
BK-CarsandStuff I do like the Black very much but I just don't have the time to restore it. Plus I would rather find another black SSE with the saddle tan leather interior over the grey interior. Since they are so rare here in the States, its difficult to determine its value. Its been years since I seen a nice example and when I did, the price was always up around $4-6000 for a Like New example.

+AMCNorthstar 93 The white ones are nice looking too. Oh, they are not worth that much in Sweden, unfortunately.

I cant tell if its your microphone skipping out or if your enigine needs a new coil pack, it sounds like its misfiring every now and then. And I have a 1990 LE Base Model, it doesnt have as many features but it has the same 3.8 liter engine. Which is one of the best engines to have in my book.

Nice car. I have a '89 SSE, pretty rare car here (in Russia). Have a LOAD of options, especially compared to my '90 GAZ Volga)

I also have I Lada Niva from 85 so I know the pain XD
@onlikt52014 жыл бұрын
@@BoldCreator , well, not exactly pain) For truth, my best purchaise) Bought it for $380, drive it for two years without any big problems. Crash into Gazelle light truck, then got hit by a big truck, and was still on the run) All parts are very cheap and always in store, pretty cool compared to a month waiting for shipping with Poncho) Have a plans to drop V8 in it, but it never happened. Also, sell it for $500 after all. Just lack a power options, and have fuel economy same with Poncho with only a half of its horses)

@@onlikt5201 Yes, I know. I love the Russian cars. They very special and good in their own way.
